Austin Community College (ACC) ADN Fall 2021

Published

Hi there! I know it's pretty early but I thought it would be nice to create a thread for all of us who will be applying for the Fall 2021 cohort, keep each other up to date on upcoming deadlines, and this whole process in general.

Hope y'all are keeping safe and staying sane during these wild times.

Yes.  Dosage Exam and I believe a Physical Assessment Check-Off that will include vitals and entry/exit as stated above.  Don't quote me on this.  That's just what I've heard from previous Level 1 students.  ?  Who knows how things might change from cohort to cohort.

I saved all my stuff from Pharmacology and I think it will be super helpful for reviewing the dosing calculations.

Okay. Thank ya'll. Any idea where I can find a complete list of the skills? I seem to have only kept printouts of the first 22.

I feel like they'll tell us what we need to know.  I would have entry/exit down and practice all vitals.

Physical Assessment is your first Level 1 checkoff. Your mastery checkoff is before that on vitals and entry/exit measures.

They'll have dosage workshops with the tutors before the exam.

I know everything leading up to the first day is anxiety inducing but they'll explain everything on orientation day and give you plenty of time and help to be ready.

Okay. Thank ya'll. I will just try to casually read through notes and practice the skills you both mentioned.

I'm hoping that they'll allow open lab starting in August.

That would be nice.

Has anyone reached about the Fall 2021 ACC student handbook? I think this is the only requirement left that I have to submit to Castlebranch (asides from the drug test), but the handbook website just says "coming soon" when I click on the link. I definitely didn't want to bother my advisor in case they were getting a lot of emails regarding this, so I figured I'd ask here. ?

It'll be out beginning of August. I definitely wouldn't email since all levels are in the same boat.

Gotcha! Thank you for letting us know! ?

My advisor said they were hoping for mid-July but it sounds like others have heard August (which is more likely the case).  She also told me they would send an e-mail blast once it's up.

It's the only requirement (other than the drug test) that I have left as well.

Hey guys! Have any of y'all bought textbooks yet? Are we supposed to buy the ones listed on the ACC virtual bookstore website?
