Austin Community College (ACC) ADN Fall 2021

Published

Hi there! I know it's pretty early but I thought it would be nice to create a thread for all of us who will be applying for the Fall 2021 cohort, keep each other up to date on upcoming deadlines, and this whole process in general.

Hope y'all are keeping safe and staying sane during these wild times.

Hello! I am a Fall 2021 hopeful too ?

So for those who don't know, the HESI requirements have been waived for Fall 2021 applicants as well. This, unfortunately, means that the odds of new applicants getting in this cohort are slim to none. After messaging with Cindy she let me know there are no slots saved specifically for new applicants and everyone is ranked equally. That signifies that if a reapplicant got their grades up on the 2nd try and now has a 4.0 and no HESI requirement - they have 5 points ahead of a new applicant who also has a 4.0.

And they're only accepting 160 students.

So, that sucks.

I am so disappointed that they waived the HESI requirements! So are you saying that even if we have a perfect 4.0 GPA and all of our corequisites we still have no chance of making it in without extra review points?

That's what I've been explained. I'm hoping they are wrong or enough people drop/defer to make that not be the case but... I, unfortunately, don't have my hopes up

I put in for the Spring 2021 cohort and just waiting to get the email later in October of the ranking email. I have already told myself that I probably won't be making it in this semester but I'm a pretty patient person. It also gives me time to finish all of the BSN pre-reqs as well.

It does suck that there are soooo many applicants putting in. Staying positive though!

Does anyone know when we should change our major to nursing?

Well hi guys figured I’d go ahead and join this group as acceptance letters went out and I did not get in for the Spring 2021 cohort.

3rd time applicant here only pulling my hair out at this point ? at least we will start in fall COVID will hopefully have ended. Let me know if anyone has any questions in regards to the application process or requirements, or HESI (even though they aren’t counting it for Spring or fall in case for future reference past that)

Hope everyone’s hanging in there

Do you think the petitions for nursing skills will be in the month of December?

Or we will know sooner than that? I am just so nervous they are going to fill up ?

Also! You still may get in! ???? Lots can change ?

Does anyone know how long CastleBranch takes to approve your immunization results and other forms after you’ve uploaded them?

Hey Deanna!

Do you know what your total scores were (minus the HESI I guess now) for your last two applications? Just want to see what they're aiming for as the minimum. Third time's a charm!
