Austin Community College (ACC) ADN Fall 2021

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi there! I know it's pretty early but I thought it would be nice to create a thread for all of us who will be applying for the Fall 2021 cohort, keep each other up to date on upcoming deadlines, and this whole process in general.

Hope y'all are keeping safe and staying sane during these wild times.

Does anyone know how long CastleBranch takes to approve your immunization results and other forms after you’ve uploaded them?

I would say 2 days for vaccinations, less for the other requirements. Last night at around 11 pm I uploaded my technical standards, BON eligibility form, and information session verification and they all got approved this morning.

@sgsnursing this round I had a 33.72 that’s minus the HESI which would have given me 10 extra points and I did not get in. But I do understand why they waived it for now

Well hi guys figured I’d go ahead and join this group as acceptance letters went out and I did not get in for the Spring 2021 cohort.

3rd time applicant here only pulling my hair out at this point ? at least we will start in fall COVID will hopefully have ended. Let me know if anyone has any questions in regards to the application process or requirements, or HESI (even though they aren’t counting it for Spring or fall in case for future reference past that)

Hope everyone’s hanging in there

When you submit the CastleBranch green check marks page do you just take a screenshot of the page or how do you do it?

Let me clarify. When you submit your application to ACC do you submit the CastleBranch page as a screenshot?

@kebrn

hi! If I recall correctly I ended up printing the page and all my other documents printed as well then scanned everything together into a PDF to submit!

I’m sure screenshot should suffice but maybe print the screen in case!!
Hope this helps!

Deanna ?

Okay! Thanks!

Here we are! 3rd time applicants we surely got it this time around right? ?

Does anyone know how they are doing skills during COVID?

I'm getting very worried with 3rd-time applicants coming in. What was your score without the HESI? I really wish they would just up the available spots.. sigh.

@sgsnursing I am a third time applicant and I had a 33 without the HESI. Had my pre reqs and co reqs

I work at a hospital with a couple ACC educators and they said the reason they don’t accept more is because it’s hard to find instructors. And without more instructors they can’t accept more students. It sucks I wish they took in more. It doesn’t help that ACC is the most popular nursing program due to cost and how great their NCLEX pass rate is . They’ve got a good reputation for sure

of course covid didn’t help so I feel a lot more people applied this round. Last round there were 300 applicants

I noticed on the Spring 2021 thread that there were some new applicants that got in with a score of 34. Is this simply because of their score, or do you think they take other things into consideration? For example: skills class, hospital affiliations, etc.

It’s purely based off of your score. 34 is the highest I believe a new applicant can score as well. So that would beat out people who have like 33.99 and under.
