Austin Community College (ACC) ADN Fall 2021

I just signed up for nursing skills in February. Does anyone know what we need for class? I want to slowly start buying stuff before the class starts.

For my class I had taken last Summer we just needed to buy our scrubs, stethoscope, and blood pressure cuff. They gave us a little wash tub that had all the supplies they wanted us to use/practice inside it. 

We only got to met once because of Covid though so we didn't get to use it much in clinicals. The items they give you will pretty much be what you use to practice with.

I took the 8 week Summer class and it was a quick class. I still learned a ton and enjoyed it though. My teachers worked with us and we got to go in once to do restraints and at the end to do final assessments. Wasn't anything too crazy I felt. I also wanted to get in and get it done asap so I could sign up for the nursing program.

I would. I think you also take that book with you in to the rest of the nursing program. 

Can you only take the class if you’re extended a petition? Or can you register for it like regular classes?

Only if you get a petition. Then you can go grab a seat. 

Is anyone on here taking the Saturday class??? ? I hope we get to be on campus!!

I just signed up for nursing skills on fridays at Cypress Creek ... anyone else? 
 

So if you are petitioned for Nursing Skills and you pass ... what next? The email said admission to the program isn’t guaranteed with a petition ... I’m just wondering if I don’t officially get in, even after the nursing skills class, will I know before the next deadline? This process is just so confusing ... sorry if I’m rambling! I’m just so nervous!

hello, I’m a reapplicant and retaking nursing skills this coming semester. You will know before the deadline if you got in or not. 

Does anyone know when we will receive the email to schedule our fingerprints? If anyone is a re-applicant, how long did it take for you to receive the email after applying to the program?
