Not sure I understand your question.... Your ATT will have a valid until date... you can take it anytime you wish up to this date....
I actually meant for the length of ATT validity in NY? I know it varies per state. Sorry to confuse you.

I think you are asking how s
long you have to take NCLEX once you use ATT? If so then 90 days is usually the answer

Hello, I live in NY too. I graduated Dec of 2018. I applied for my License and paid for the exam January 29. I didn’t get my ATT until June. Reason being, the government shut down had a 5-6 weeks delay. So they were opening mails based on the order it was received. Soo many people apply out here in NY so the population of nurses is huge! On top of that my school took a month to send out my certification form smh! I’d say to you apply now!
I haven’t studied for quite some time while waiting for the ATT and that was bad. Now I’m seeing why because it feels like i was forgetting stuff. So I had to over study which didn’t really help on the nclex. I’ve posted 2 stories feel free to read them.
All the best!

Yup, that is exactly what I wanted to know so I can estimate and plan my review. Thanks!

That was really a long wait, I thought Pearson Vue will give your ATT soon as you registered and made eligible by BON and if it's more than two weeks passed you haven't received it then you need to contact them. Thanks for sharing this, I will register as soon as possible.

Hi -
I applied March, 2023 and just received my ATT June 19th - a total of 83 days. What was interesting is that I was given 180 days as a validity period - when I have heard over and over that it is "usually" 90 days. I certainly don't want to wait until December to take the test - but found it odd that the range was 180 vs. 90 days..!
The information about how long each state's ATT validity period is - is not easily found on the web. You would think this would be an easy list to compile - but no one has done it..that I can find...
Thanks -

Hi;
I'm sorry to ask, but what state are you in?
I live in Florida and I applied on April and I'm still waiting for my ATT. My school says that they are not accepting application from FL, but I read in an article (https://www.regents.nysed.gov/sites/regents/files/423ppca1revised.pdf)
that they are analizing every student that applies that its not from NY.
Thank you in advance.

I went to school in California and now live in NY where I applied to take the NCLEX. If you read the linked article carefully, you will see that it doesn't use the word "student" anywhere in it. This document is an emergency resolution to give the BON in NY the power to reject applications from students who graduated from programs that do not meet the rigor and standards of NY schools. Previously, they accepted students from approved schools in other states under the assumption that their standards would be equal to NY's. The Florida scandal changed all that. They can no longer make the assumption that one state's schools are as closely monitored as NY's. (If nothing else, the Florida Board of Nursing should be thoroughly and completely embarrassed. They let students down completely.)
NY is now dealing with those students who sneaked in with the loophole and simply paid for their diplomas and transcripts. However, there is nothing in this document about evaluating individual students for suitability to sit the NCLEX. It is focused on schools and is expected now to be made a permanent rule after September. If they determine a school does not meet NY standards, then they will not have to deal with individual students, but rather just blacklist the school and any of its graduates.
It took almost three months to get my ATT, but from other threads, you can see that NY is simply glacially slow at administering/processing these applications.
Thank you for your answer.
