I submitted my application for the accelerated Summer 2010 program at ASU awhile ago, but I just realized that the February 1st deadline was coming up and wanted to see if anyone else here on allnurses.com applied or is applying. I'm so nervous, I've already applied once and didn't make it--I really, really, really, REALLY hope I can get in this time.
I'm already starting to get impatient waiting for April!!! My whole life is on hold until then! I hate that I can't apply to any other schools because I'm stuck waiting for ASU and I don't want to pay a bunch of application fees if I make it into ASU regardless. Don't get me wrong, though, I really want to get into ASU's program. I just want to get into nursing, really. It's just a little annoying that we will find out about getting into the program so late in the year .

So all of you ladies looked great today! Guys not too shabby yourselves! It was nice to get to meet a couple more of yall off here. Ended up sitting next to Bethany. Was nice to meet you and get to talk with you. You seem really cool and looking forward to classes with ya.

Thanks to Crystal?(forgive me if this is wrong. I'm horrible with names.) for the copies of the receipts! Sounds like we might not be able to get that money. We shall see. I plan to push this. Not cool to charge different prices.
Now, we also talked to someone else about the book price thing, but I didn't even think to put 2 and 2 together and that "you" may be on here as well?? Oh mystery bookstore story girl.... lol Also, was that Kookykris next to you Bethany? I didn't realize it might be until just a bit ago and if so I apologize for not saying hi!
Anyways, let the countdown begin. In 7 days we will be diving right in. Should be an awesome experience and look forward to be joining all of yall on this great journey together! :)

Yup it's Crystal! Good memory! :) Good meeting you guys too! Good luck with the books! Thats nuts that it happened! Im thinking maybe a few boxes had old barcodes or something. They should definitely have to give everyone the cheaper price because of that. Let me know how it goes!

Haha, yeah, pretty much everything that Eddie said! It was great finally being able to meet almost everyone! When scperez11 got her name called, Eddie and I were like, "Ohh! That's scperez11!" haha :) But yes, thanks again to April and Crystal for the receipt copies! I didn't talk to the bookstore people yet, I will tomorrow though since I'll be on campus for my last final (woot!).
And no, it wasn't kookykris who sat next to me haha. I'm actually not sure who was sitting next to me, to be honest Kookykris was in the wayyy back :)
But yay! That ceremony was pretty fun. I was really shocked about the Dean's story about her daughter... that kind of stuff makes me so motivated to become as good as I can possibly be so that things like that will NEVER happen to patients under my watch!!

Took me awhile to find out about this great thread, thank you Crystal! Once I found it, I had to read EVERY post of course, just so I would feel caught up, so here I am, a few days later. So reassuring to know that I am not alone in all this, everything I was concerned about seemed to be posted here, whew! I thought the ceromony was nice, really enjoyed the slideshow story. Look forward to seeing you all in person next week, enjoy the last week of freedom! :anpom:

Hi Eddie! That was not me in your row, but I did want to come up to you today and say hi! I was the one in the black and white dress on the second to the last row...if it helps, I was the short asian (filipino) girl next to the other asian (Korean) girl (I met her today, she was really awesome) in line to get the pin. Haha I don't know how else to explain it.

Hi Isa! :grpwlcm: I think I was sitting right by you! I was in the black and white dress! I, too, really enjoyed the slide show and speeches. It was really motivating for me and I can't wait to embark in the nursing journey! Woohoo!
Wow so once again, financial aid tells me something different for the 50th time but on THE SAME subject!!!! Last week I verified at the office when the checks will be sent out and the lady said that they will be sent out one week from when class starts and I clarified that my nursing classes starts on Monday and she replied, "then they will be mailed by the Monday before (yesterday). So when I didn't get anything in the mail yesterday, I wanted to verify today...I was told just now that, "they will be sent out on the 27th even though your class starts next week, we only have ONE disbursement date for ALL campuses and ALL programs regardless of the start date." AHHHGGGGG I just wish they knew what they were talking about before they give out information.
