I submitted my application for the accelerated Summer 2010 program at ASU awhile ago, but I just realized that the February 1st deadline was coming up and wanted to see if anyone else here on allnurses.com applied or is applying. I'm so nervous, I've already applied once and didn't make it--I really, really, really, REALLY hope I can get in this time.
I'm already starting to get impatient waiting for April!!! My whole life is on hold until then! I hate that I can't apply to any other schools because I'm stuck waiting for ASU and I don't want to pay a bunch of application fees if I make it into ASU regardless. Don't get me wrong, though, I really want to get into ASU's program. I just want to get into nursing, really. It's just a little annoying that we will find out about getting into the program so late in the year .

Hello everyone! My name is Young. I am one of few guys in our class. I was sitting in the front row to fireheart and cna to crna during the ceremony. I found this awesome thread a couple weeks ago but I was too shy to post something. I’d really like to say that all information shared here is BIG HELP! Appreciate it!! Tuesday is gone now, so it looks like we’ve got only 5 more days to start. It's pretty much excited but I’m also scary to wake up 6 in the morning four days a week once we start… I kinda feel going back to high school. Well... I will enjoy my PlayStation as much as I can by Sunday night. I hope everyone will enjoy these last few days and see you all on Monday!!

Yeah, I can't believe that we only have 3 days of freedom left! haha. I felt like I was going through a Bucket List today because I kept on saying, "Oh, I need to do this before Monday! And this! And ohhh, if I plan on doing this at all, it'll have to be sometime this weekend before Monday!" Better enjoy the break while we can, though!!! I'm still not prepared to be waking up around 5:45am, either.... :zzzzz
Oh my gosh, did anyones financial aide accounts change? Mine popped up today about 3,000$ less than what they originally offered me!!! Now Im freaking out and so tired of this! When I go to look at the breakdown it say it cannot be accessed at this time. Such a joke! I already paid my tuition for the summer with credit cards and my savings account because my entire bill had to be paid in order to get my partial tuition reimbursement from my work and I was just planning on paying them off when my financial aide came in. I'm wondering if this has something to do with it. Let me know if anything changed with anyone elses please! It's too early to call financial aide, so I have to patiently wait for an hour! Ugh!

They changed mine all up but that was a few days ago and I kind of was expecting it too. They had me down for loans but I knew I had maxed out already for the year with the last 2 semesters. Still thought it was lame of them to put up an award amount FIRST before actually figuring out how much I would be allowed to get. Maybe the same thing happened with you? Was it your loans that were reduced? Maybe similar thing with your situation!?! Either way, I think this whole FA situation is just effed up. I cannot believe how amature they are with all of this. Sorry that you are having to deal with this. I really think we need to put in complaints with whoever needs to hear them. This is all just ridiculous.

looks like no course is on my blackboard yet. but today i opened a textbook for pharmacology class and saw there are 109 chapters in it. i've never seen any textbook with more than 100 chapters! that's super scary. i really wish this book had only 109 pages.

my disbursement date is may 27th, a week after payment due date. still have no idea about this. i'm already kinda missing things at community colleges such as free parking, free printing, easy fa and so on. i don't understand why everything is so complicated at university.

Yeah... I just looked, too, and now I'm a little apprehensive... to say the least! :chair: We have to get a 77% or above on every test? And then A's are 93% and higher?! I've never had either of those elements implemented in a class before... ahh!! It doesn't help that I am known to have wicked test anxiety... lol.

I doubt we'll need them, and even if we do, we won't be punished or anything because it's not like our prof's are letting us know that we need them for the first day or anything, you know? I'm still surprised that they changed the class times without updating everyone! I hope people don't show up late thinking we start at 9am like the schedule used to say!! That would be so sad... But yeah, I'm definitely going to opt to save my back and not bring the textbooks on the first day of class

Lol yeah this shocked the crap out of me the 1st time I heard it. I was talking to some people about it at agility class for my dog and one older lady was suprised by the 70-79 C 80-89 B 90-100 A scale. She said that the one we have here, is how she always remembered it. Old school! But don't worry about it and the tests! I'm sure you will do great and you always have all of us to help you out as much as needed. We already have a great group of people to look to when we need help so we are already one step ahead here.

I think I will bring my books. Call me crazy, but I just won't feel right without them. Your probably right. We won't need them and I'll carry them for nothing, but I dunno. I'll be toughing it that day.
So hey, at the welcome meeting, I thought I remember them saying something about us having access to some YMCA gym there at the downtown campus. Does anyone know any information about this?? Might be a good way to wake my butt up in the mornings! haha
At least the pharmacology chapters are only around 10 pages/chapter instead of the typical 30 to 40 pages per chapter! So, we'll only be reading like 100 pages per week for that class... haha!
What the heck? None of the classes are available to me on blackboard. Ive been looking like every day! haha Do you guys have blackboard 9 or 8? And how to you get BB9? Ive been searching the site forever and I can't figure it out! Mine is still BB8! And Yea Airborne that is what happened to me with FA. So dumb I totally forgot there was a limit but they definitely shouldnt have put up the amounts like that. Im so mad because I had 1700 left over from the year and I paid it back when I found out how much I was getting this semster. Stupid mistake on our part trusting that it would be right. Oh well I guess. I really need help with this blackboard thing if anyone might know why I dont have access or BB9 yet.. Thanks guys!
Ok so I spoke with the help desk and she said BB9 is being rolled out slowly and everyone should have access by tomorrow night. And We wont be able to access our classes in BB8 at all. In case anyone else was having the same problem!
