So yeah.... I just got home about an hour ago from my trip to Nevada... lol.. Although I had an AWESOME time, I'm barely getting started on my concept map. I read the last few posts and see exactly what everyone is talking about.. It seems too "easy", but I agree with Bethany, is confusing in some areas. Like many of you, I'm just gonna do the best I can and call it a night (hopefully soon!)... Still gotta take a peek at 394's assignment... Get some sleep for me, guys...haha -Sabrina

aireborne: About the YMCA: All you do is go to the Y and tell them you're an ASU student. You give them your sun card, let them put you in the system, and they take your photo and print you a YMCA card. I've been working out there for FREE for the past few yrs. Also, you can ask for a YMCA sticker so that you can park in their lot. They have a lot of cool things there like new machines, FREE classes (yoga, kickboxing, cycle, dance, etc.). Definitely recommend checking it out. Drive down 3rd ave and Van Buren and you'll run right into it. Hope this helps! -Sabrina

Hey guys! Been super busy finishing up finals and haven't been on here in a few wks. Can't believe our Lighting the Lamp ceremony is already on Monday! Time just flew by, huh? I'm glad I read the previous posts because I too had no idea that the times for class changed. I work til' 6:30 in the morning so it will definitely be interesting coming to class at 7:30.. haha... I remember Tues/Thurs used to say 7-4 or somethin' and now it says 7:30-8:45a... but for some reason that sounds too good to be true? haha... -Sabrina

Tarabara, It's definitely hard working this many hours, but I'm used to it. I've been a FT student for 3 yrs now and I've ALWAYS worked FT and have got A's the whole way through (with exception to a few science classes). I know nursing is going to be more difficult, but I'm confident that I can handle it. I'm in a tough spot because I HAVE TO work 32 hrs minimum at my job to keep my benefits. Trust me, my job is SUPER calm/easy! The hardest part is staying awake all night long. Other than that, I've been going to school in the morning, resting before work, and studyin' all night.. Plus PTO is FABULOUS and I have a lot of hours in case I get burnt out :]

Hey guys, By any chance did anyone write down which classes we are going to be taking for Jr 2, Senior 1/2? I didn't write them down at the meeting. Also, I'm trying to plan a new work schedule. I currently work the night shift (10p-6:30a). I love it because its calm and I get to bring my laptop at night to do hw. Right now I work Tues-Thurs, and am off every other Mon/Fri and every other weekend... Ex: One week I'll work Sunday, Tue-Fri and the following week I'll work Mon-Thurs, and Sat. Now that I'm in the program, I know I'll either have to double up on a day or completely drop a shift.. *First Idea: Wed, Thurs, Fri (double from 2p-6:30a), & Sat = 40hrs (But I think in later semesters Friday ends up being a long day? idk...) *Second Idea: Only working Wed-Sat night = 32hrs (4 nights)... I gotta let my boss know ASAP... ! -Sabrina

I got offered the Direct Parent PLUS loan... My parents have to create a user and accept it for me or something. I started the process though, and now I'm just waiting for my mom to get the email.... sigh* I gotta do my drug screen this morning... I just got home from work not too long ago and have to go to school soon... Beautiful... lol -Sabrina

Hey guys, Looks like my financial aid posted too. I'm not sure if I should accept the full amount or not... I'm worried that if I don't, I might end up needing it later? Is anyone else accepting the full amts? -Sabrina

Tarabara, So what do you suggest? If you go to the website, there are two different options... #1: Nursing Skills Online Version 2.0 for Clinical Nursing Skills and Techniques (User Guide and Access Code), 7th Edition ($59.95) #2: Nursing Skills Online Version 2.0 for Clinical Nursing Skills and Techniques (User Guide, Access Code and Textbook Package), 7th Edition ($118) I don't wanna buy the cheaper one and then later realize I needed the other one... I'm confused.. -Sabrina

Don't worry airborne, we were all grateful for the info you were able to get us; even if you were misinformed about a few things. I'm super worried because I purchased all of my books already (mostly through Amazon) and now I'm stuck because I still have to purchase the online pdf file thingy (the last item on the list of required -- blue paper)... Anyone else have this problem? I went on the website yesterday and you can buy the access code and guide, but I'm not sure if it will work on BB... Idk, I gotta go down to student svcs tomorrow and figure it out.. :/ -Sabrina

Hey guys, So like many of you, I left the meeting with more questions than answers. The most stressful thing was of course the tuition. I have money saved, and my parents are going to help, but even after that, I still know that I'll need money from other sources (loans). Airborne, I thought that was you, especially after the VA talk. I met a few ppl, but no one from on here. No worries though, I'm sure we'll all meet up soon. It probably didn't help that I didn't wear the name sticker.. lol.. The girl I sat next to was pretty cool, and we realized we live super close to each other so we signed up to carpool. It was nice to hear that they can still adjust the learning communities. I'm excited to register for classes. Pineapple Crush: Don't be nervous about working with older people. Yes, they are more fragile than other populations, but they are the sweetest people! I've been an assisted living caregiver since 2008 and absolutely love it :) So it looks like all I have left to do is the drug screen; I'll look into that Monday. Also, I purchased all of my books online so I'll have to go through Elsevier to get that last required PDF package... Hope it all works out! -Sabrina

Pineapple Crush, I clicked on the link and if you read #4 it says "Undergraduate students with total credit hours in excess of the threshold established by the Arizona Legislature are required to pay a tuition surcharge. For resident students the surcharge is $86 per credit hour." I hope this means that for Residents it will be 9 credits at $4,699 + (7 credits * $86/credit = 602) = $5301 ? Did anyone else see it that way or am I way off? haha... $10,000 just seems ridiculously high; although, with ASU, I wouldn't be surprised.. Anyway, I'm trying not to stress it... See you guys tomorrow! :) -Sabrina
