I submitted my application for the accelerated Summer 2010 program at ASU awhile ago, but I just realized that the February 1st deadline was coming up and wanted to see if anyone else here on allnurses.com applied or is applying. I'm so nervous, I've already applied once and didn't make it--I really, really, really, REALLY hope I can get in this time.
I'm already starting to get impatient waiting for April!!! My whole life is on hold until then! I hate that I can't apply to any other schools because I'm stuck waiting for ASU and I don't want to pay a bunch of application fees if I make it into ASU regardless. Don't get me wrong, though, I really want to get into ASU's program. I just want to get into nursing, really. It's just a little annoying that we will find out about getting into the program so late in the year .
Hey when you guys click "loan details" next to your loans from the award summary page does it say "Your loan was certified by the FA office and was sent to the lender for approval" ?
Both my subsidized & unsubsidized loans say that. I haven't been given the option to choose a lender yet. Have any of you done that? This is a mess.
I remember someone saying that they were going to have trouble getting the summer parking permit in time for the program. I wanted to let you all know that there is an ASU visitor lot on the southeast corner of Fillmore & Central. It's pretty close to the CON. It costs $12 (all day) or $3/hr. In addition, the Arizona center parking garage is VERY close 5th st & fillmore (Arizona Center Directory - Top Stores, Shops, Brands in Downtown Phoenix). I don't know how much that costs, but I imagine that it's pretty comparable.
If anyone has to do that, I would actually suggest using the parking lot that is just NORTH of the Central and Fillmore. It is $5 all day!! :) You just park in a numbered spot, and go up to the big red boxes on the south side of the lot and put your money (cash, exact amount) into the slot with your parking spot's number in it! And you're set! Also, the garage that is close to 5th street and Fillmore is $12 all day, but it's actually covered. And beware it is VERY narrow in there, I would not suggest taking very big cars in there
Has anyone done the MPN and the Entrance Counseling for their loans yet? I did like two weeks ago and it still says that I need to do it under my To Do List. I called financial aid and they said that if that is not cleared on my account, my funds will be held !! But I already did it! Ohhh Financial Aid....lol
I don't even have the OPTION of doing the MPN or Entrance Counseling!! I called Fin Aid and asked and they said that it's fine... but it shouldn't be fine... I mean I feel like I have to sign something or DO something to get my loan, you know? They just said that if it pops up on my account to do it ASAP, but it hasn't yet, so they said that I don't have to worry about it... ahhh!

Mine said the same thing. I wonder what that means? I'll be happy in like 3 weeks when we've already started and this will hopefully be all sorted out!
Hey PC - If you've already completed a MPN for ASU, then it says that you shouldn't have to do it again. (If you did it for another school then you still have to do it for ASU.) Here is the link to do MPN and Entrance Counseling: StudentLoans.gov You will need your S.S.# as well as your PIN number (4 digits). I did one for ASU awhile ago and mine is still on file at this website.
lol ASU is so ridiculous sometimes, i've been going to ASU for 3 full years now and it STILL says that i need my final transcript from high school in my to do list. I wouldn't put much trust in that to do list
Been super busy finishing up finals and haven't been on here in a few wks. Can't believe our Lighting the Lamp ceremony is already on Monday! Time just flew by, huh? I'm glad I read the previous posts because I too had no idea that the times for class changed. I work til' 6:30 in the morning so it will definitely be interesting coming to class at 7:30.. haha... I remember Tues/Thurs used to say 7-4 or somethin' and now it says 7:30-8:45a... but for some reason that sounds too good to be true? haha...
So FA awards for 2010-2011 Fall and Spring are up on my account. I guess thats good because apparently they need all the time they can get to figure everything out, but sure would be nice if they straightened out this summer aid first....

Really?? But I thought you have to sign up for classes in order to be evaluated for financial aid ?! Which reminds me, I wonder when the heck we'll even sign up for Fall classes? My account still says $0 for 2010-2011, which it has said for several weeks now and I know can't be true (or at least I hope to goodness that it isn't).... Oi vey. I'm getting very tired of all this crazy Fin Aid stuff... :sstrs: :nuke: :hdvwl:

Huh, mine still says 7:30am-4:30pm. I definitely wouldn't trust it, to be honest... haha

Thats what I thought too, but bam there it was. So I don't know. I imagine we won't be able to register for classes next semester until August 1st! hahah
Oh, geez, I just checked and my Fall/Spring awards are there, too. But they're not complete... either that or I have a bit of fighting to do with the Financial Aid office because they left out my scholarship completely... Le sigh! Now the question is: do I berate them now, or later? haha oh, dear...
Geeze my fall financial aide still says it hasn't been recieved and says 0$ I thought we had to register for classes first too. Does anyone elses say not received that has filled it out already? And for this semester has anyones summer aide eligibility thing gotten removed yet? Mine is still there.
us current junior 1's (me and tarabara) just finished our last final this morning. we're finally done with our first semester! so now it's your turn. when do you start?
