I submitted my application for the accelerated Summer 2010 program at ASU awhile ago, but I just realized that the February 1st deadline was coming up and wanted to see if anyone else here on allnurses.com applied or is applying. I'm so nervous, I've already applied once and didn't make it--I really, really, really, REALLY hope I can get in this time.
I'm already starting to get impatient waiting for April!!! My whole life is on hold until then! I hate that I can't apply to any other schools because I'm stuck waiting for ASU and I don't want to pay a bunch of application fees if I make it into ASU regardless. Don't get me wrong, though, I really want to get into ASU's program. I just want to get into nursing, really. It's just a little annoying that we will find out about getting into the program so late in the year .

Has anyone else's NUR 394 changed? Mine used to say "Psychomotor Skills" but now it says "Foundations for Nursing Practice" and MOST of our class times have changed... we're now starting at 7:30am on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, but Wednesday is still a 9:00am start. Here I thought they were giving us a break by letting us start later...
Can anyone else confirm/deny this with their schedules?

Holy crap! Good eye, I probably would have not seen that and still gone off the old schedule I printed out! But yeah, it all changed here. Yuck, 7:30a!?! I'm so not a morning person so this should be fun. Looks like we get out early Monday as well as Friday so hopefully this schedule is actually right!
Just wait till long term care when you have to be there by 6am! I am so not a morning person either, energy drinks or starbucks become your best friend hahaha but on the other hand it is really nice to be done for the day early especially monday and friday.

Caffeine is so nice, no lie. I have way too many empty coffee cups on my desk leftover from this last week of nonstop work. I'm definitely not a morning person either, but the 07:30 am start times aren't really that bad after four or five weeks. Just get your sleep kick in on the weekend
Red Bull gives you wiiiiiiinnngs!! :) Thank God for energy drinks. I can't do coffee. Get too jittery and then crash a few hours later.
And yeah, I know after I do it for a bit I will be fine with it, but its just the whole getting used to it part that sucks! I'm thinking I'm going to have to leave at 5:30 the first couple times just to make sure I time everything right. Ugg!

I have to leave at 5:30 too, so that means waking up around 4:30. I'm not looking forward to that at all.
I'm not much of a morning person, either. Ugh, I wish I could do coffee/energy drinks! I don't like the taste of coffee at all and energy drinks do murder on my stomach. I've never tried the 5-hour energy since it's supposedly more natural, but idk. Even tea doesn't help much... it just makes me need to urinate a LOT! I should probably start waking up earlier and ease into the 7:30am starts.... It'll be nice to be done by 1pm, though. Lots of time to study (or nap!) in the afternoons!
P.S. I think I've finally decided that I'm going to go up to Slide Rock on the 11th or 12th for a day trip! :w00t: I'm also determined to beat the New Super Mario Bros on the Wii... if I don't do it before school starts I either won't do it, or I'll start putting of studying to do it, which would be bad!

I just got my "Calculating Drug Dosages" by Martinez de Castillo book from Amazon today and it showed up as a box!! Has anyone else bought this book(?) yet? The box is sealed in plastic-wrapping so I'm afraid to open it in case I got the wrong thing or something. It says it includes a CD-ROM and Workbook... did I accidently buy a CD version of the book, or is this how everyone's is as well?
It was just very odd that I got a box and not a thick book like I was expecting... haha! I bought it new, from Amazon themselves, so it's not like someone gypped me or something.

Yeah! It says it's for Windows XP/2000. I run a PC, but unfortunately both my desktop and laptop run Vista.... In fact my laptop runs 64-bit Vista, which makes it a little worse. Interesting, though, that they would assign us a CD... I wonder if I can actually find a book version now that I know that the version I bought off of Amazon is a CD and may not even work on my computers....
