Hello, All! My packet for 66P AD packet is almost complete and will be submitted for the October Board, fingers crossed. Anyone else waiting for this board? How has your whole process been? Anyone who has previously undergone this experience is more than welcome to give input! Thanks!

I started applying late May and everything just went like a breeze. They sounded really eager to take me after seeing my resume and qualifications (not a bragging post). I was told that the Army is really short on certain types of nurses (especially those that offers sign-on bonuses and incentives, look into their website) and will commission them faster if they show up. I wasn't expecting things to go so quickly as I have read here that many people are waiting for months for things to happen. I was told that my packet was picked out right away (like in days) once it was submitted. So in all, I think if the Army wants you and if there's a need, then they are capable of speeding things up.
Good luck to all of you who are applying and waiting for orders!
Congratulations on your selection!! Keep us updated on your progress!!

I don't know yet which unit I'll be assigned to... I just know that it's close to where I live in Orange County probably... Going in with no Army background so I do feel like I have a lot to catch up on.
Hi everyone, I had a question about Army Reserve Critical Care. I was interested in processing as a Critical Care Nurse however I was wondering what would happen if during this time I was accepted to a full time graduate program ie. CRNA ? If at that point would it be possible to then transition/apply to the STRAP CRNA contract all without completing the Nurse obligation?

Dear Msnapper, just a question regarding the Reserve side. If one was to join Reserves as a Critical Care Nurse, with the intent of ultimately being a Reserve CRNA, would it be possible to still attend CRNA schooling and obtain support from the Reserves to be a CRNA or do you have to finish the Nurse obligation?

Shaycb7 is correct. Your best bet for these questions is an AMEDD recruiter. Honestly, I do not have that much information regarding CRNA or Reserve nursing. There is a program for CRNA school where you are paid full time and tuition is free; however, you are required to complete an Active Duty contract after you graduate. I don't know what the mission for CRNA reservists looks like either, and I am not familiar with the incentives. These incentives also change.
