Are your tests timed?

Hola,

I took my first 2 exams today. The first I passed and the second I won't know until next week. I was just wondering if it is typical for a Nursing test to be timed. All of them are, in every course. They allot 1 minute per question.

During the summer they made us take an online tutorial about how to take a nursing exam. It showed us how to breakdown the question and such. So I feel pretty confident taking a test, I am just surprized that they are timed, that's all.

Yes ours are timed as well. We get 1 min per question + an extra 5 minutes

Specializes in Cardiac Care.

Same here; timed at 1 min/question.

Specializes in Urgent Care.

Yeppers, us too.

Specializes in Med/Surg, Tele, IM, OB/GYN, neuro, GI.

Yup ours too. How long depends on which instructor is give it. Sometimes it's a hour for 50 questions and sometimes it's three hours for 100. The bad part is sitting there and waiting for them to tell us we're allowed to leave.

We usually get 1 hour 15 minutes for a 50 question test.

We always get an hour for 50-60 questions. We're allowed to leave when we're through, and only maybe 2/100 students ever took the entire time.

We get 1 minute per question, +5 minutes.

Specializes in Emergency.

1 hour 10 minutes for 55 questions. Way more than enough time.

Specializes in Acute Care.

90 seconds a question, but our teachers aren't really strict on it.

Specializes in Psych ICU, addictions.

90 questions, about 120 minutes. We can leave early when we've finished.

50 minutes for regular tests, which are anywhere between 40-45 questions. 2 hours for a final, those are usually 100-110 questions.
