Published

Hi

just taking a survey to see if nursing jobs ARE out there.

I am interested in finding out about potential LPN openings.

If you feel comfortable, please say the state you are from'

THANK YOU!!

Specializes in Peds Homecare.

I live in New York State, Central NY. Many nursing jobs are avalible for RN's, LPN's,and CNA's. Jobs for Healthcare are plentiful.

Why don't you have a look at monster or similar?

I graduate next week and the job market for new grads in the Portland, Oregon areas suck, but trying to be optimistic.

North of Albany, near Canada. Not a lot of jobs for anyone, let alone new grads.

Specializes in ICU, School Nurse, Med/Surg, Psych.

Long considered a recession-resistant, if not recession-proof, profession, nursing has become a competitive field in some areas of the country. Some hospitals are laying off workers or closing their doors, which eliminates nursing jobs. At the same time, more older nurses are postponing or even coming out of retirement because their savings have all but vanished or their spouses have lost their jobs. As a result, we are seeing a temporary increase in the ranks of nurses and a decline in nursing vacancies, which is making it harder for some unemployed nurses to find jobs.

Virginia (Hampton/Newport News/Norfolk/Virginia Beach/Williamsburg/Portsmouth/Chesapeake area, AKA Southeast Virginia or the Tidewater area or Hampton Roads area). No prob getting a job.

Specializes in ED.

Panhandle West Virginia, some jobs, depends on the specialty. ER and ICU always looking for people but they have cut backs on other floors.

Specializes in allergy and asthma, urgent care.

Boston area-nothing for new grad RNs, but more for new grad NPs.

Specializes in Family Nurse Practitioner.

Baltimore/DC not as abundant as they were a year ago when we were being recruited into specialties before graduation but definitely still plenty of good opportunities, imo.

Specializes in He who hesitates is probably right....

Western PA (Pittsburgh), plenty of RN jobs available. Can't comment on LPN positions.
