i don't know of any nurses paid in cash. do you mean being paid under the table with no taxes taken out? i'm just curious, why would you want to be paid in cash?

A lot of facilities moved away from cash payments because it made them less of a target for armed hold-up etc. Even if your facility DOES pay in cash I would not advertise that fact on the internet.

Probably not. Probably no organized employer anywhere in the U.S. pays in cash. Why not?
In Texas, every organized employer is required under law to withhold Child Support (child support withholding is mandatory for everybody that punches a clock - I don't have the option to pay it out myself, if I collect a check for my income, child support must, by law, be withheld from it) and to provide records and accounting to Uncle Sam for tax purposes. (and in some states, not TEXAS, but is some states, it allows for creditors to garnish your wages also).
If Uncle Sam and my Ex-wife can get to my money before me (and they can), then the only way to ensure that possibility is to pay in a way that allows for withholding AND/OR accountability for that withholding.
Also, most employers now push their employees to direct deposit, which is cheaper. Paying in cash avoids the accountability that most employers require.
So curiousity begs the question: Besides avoiding the obvious, (Uncle Sam, Ex-spouse, Creditor) - What would be the advantage of being paid in cash? You can't stay 'off the grid' without consequence.
Interestingly, some agencies will cut you a same day check for work, and some hospitals pay cash bonuses for extra work.
The other options is to work as a private nurse for somebody that WILL pay under the table - the catch is: the more you want to be paid, the LESS likely this will be possible. It's ok to pay a few hundred dollars a week under the table; once you start talking about salaries in the 10s of thousands - people that can afford that 'off the books' normally have accountants and books to pay for it 'on the books'.
If you're looking to avoid child support or taxes, then buck up and knuckle down: you OWE the child support and taxes can't reasonably be avoided. If you're looking to avoid creditors, come to TEXAS - creditors aren't allowed by law to attach your wages here. There are other options, but I won't discuss or encourage dubious ones.
hopes this help.

I did a part time private duty case for cash for awhile but these folks could afford it and most can't. I feel it is better to just get a check and let them deal with the tax man so I dont have to.

The only people who get paid in cash around here are strippers.
I know many a nurse who wish they could be paid everyday or cash for that matter.
