So, which is it since you started school? I have gained a good 10 to 12 lbs. and it is driving me mad. It's almost impossible to eat right when your school is out of town, you do so much homework that you totally forget to make a lunch before you head out the door:rolleyes: The alternative: starve or eat fast food. I choose the latter. It's seems comforting when I am stressed out, which is all the darn time. *shakes head* Pathetic, I tell you.
Gained. I'm 10 pounds heavier than when I first went back to school. Five pounds of it I gained in core courses and 5 pounds since the program started. I'm out of shape in some ways, and some other things are easier. Like, being on my feet doesn't make me go home and cry now, and positioning people is getting easier.
But-- I'm looking in the mirror and getting pretty apprehensive 'cause I see my mom. Hair keeps getting shorter, waistline slowly expanding... ack. And I'd still rather study than exercise.
Surprisingly, I am the same weight as when I started my nursing program.
The one thing that helps me the most is weighing myself 3 to 5 times a week. That may sound excessive, but that's the only things that works for me. I can put the pounds on soooo fast without noticing 'cause I mostly wear loose stretchy clothing. I once gained 17 lbs in six weeks. I just jumped on the scale one day and almost had a heart attack...oh, that's why my gut is hanging out of my pants...duh...
I am not gaining but my hair is falling out i was told due to stress. so i would rather be gaining weight than losing my hair. that really sucks!
gaining.....for sure. I was doing WW and lost about 15 lbs before school started...now I've gained it all back plus about 5. It's tough but I'm trying to buckle down and start eating right and workin out some.
I don't know how much I gained first semester (I'm guessing an easy 10) but I joined WW the week before 2nd semester started in January and lost over 47 lbs. Still have another 40 to go but I've had a really hard time this semester (this is the 'weeding out' semester) and have had no time to pay attention to food, no less attend my meetings (which keep me accountable). I plan on getting back on track once these exams end! All that keeps me motivated is 'what will I look like at graduation?' I have until May to lose another 40 (I lost the first 40 really quick-in 5 months) and I'll be happy if I lose 20!
