Hi! Is anyone applying to UCLA's MECN program? Last year I applied and wasn't accepted. I believe they accepted around 12%. They had 70 spaces down from 90 the previous year.
@ Hanabiwabi . The only ADN program I can speak for is the Los Angeles County School of Nursing because I've heard their grads find jobs. Unfortunately, many won't even consider you if you in California if you don't have at least a BSN, but some will hire you based on experience. New grads in CA have difficulty finding jobs even with a BSN. I'd look into Pasadena, Glendale, Santa Monica; there are many others. I've been accepted at other schools, but they are out of state and still waiting from others. There are also some schools which you want to avoid at all costs from what I heard. PM me if you want more info.
Maybe it's too soon to say something like this but... Are there any good CC programs in the LA area and is it even possible to get in or are wait lists insane. What are folks back up plans? (I was only eligible to apply to ucla this year because I had a prereq pending)
I'm still waiting to hear from CSUN which is my other top choice. I was accepted to CSU San Marcos for the ABSN program but it's so far for me 😞 but if it comes down to it I would go there if I didn't get accepted to UCLA or CSUN.
Do we still not know whether or not they are releasing decisions in alphabetical order? Also, is sure there are many others who applied and who aren't on all nurses. For all we know, hopefully there were others who were accepted today. Who knows... 😞 I just want to hear from them already...I'm getting so nervous when I wasn't that nervous before lol
ElizabethH-736 we have been waiting a long time together! Congrats on your San Marcos acceptance! My friend just graduated from that program and loved it!
I think the part that kind of did it for me was the fact that the wait list as we know it is at least already in the low 30's....It just made me think its going by number order not alphabetical. I am a "P" so I hope I'm wrong

Yes we definitely have! Thanks! Yea I know San Marcos is a great program I just wish it wasn't so far but oh well. Glad to know your friend loved that program though 😊
That's true ...well I'm an "H" so I hope we are wrong too lol.
I got wait listed, low thirties. I'm pretty happy, even though I recognize a lot of things would have to fall into place for a spot to open up for me. My decision status on the UCLA site still says "to date, no admission status has been reached."Hang in there guys!
If you don't mind me asking, what letter does your last name start with? Congrats on getting on the wait list! If they aren't sending out acceptances anymore I hope I make the wait list too 😞
I'm waiting to hear from CSULA and CSULB.
I'm also applying to LA Harbor College because they have a bridge program to CSULA. It would take three years but that's the same amount of time as re-applying next year if I don't get in at CSU or UC.
SMC has a similar program with CSUDH and they are still accepting applications.

Thank you :) and I don't mind at all. Last name with a C. I hope the wait is over soon for you!!
