Applying to UCLA MECN to start Fall 2015?

Hi! Is anyone applying to UCLA's MECN program? Last year I applied and wasn't accepted. I believe they accepted around 12%. They had 70 spaces down from 90 the previous year.

@ Hanabiwabi . I did ask, are they still accepting people and he said yes. for one school I applied to, the lady would not tell me my decision over the phone even though it was made. Think it is for privacy purposes.

However, I do think you are correct. Because waitlisted people are finding out today, and they are going by rank.

Does anybody know the acceptance rate for those on the alternate list? I just received an Email, and I am #13 on the alternate list for Fall 2015..

i hear that last year they got up to #20 or 30, so you should be fine!

Don't get me wrong I really really hope they were telling you the truth on that. I guess it's just hard for me to believe it. My impression is that in years past they informed people of acceptance, then wait list, then denial in order. Saturday we had a wave of acceptances and nothing else, today it seems we had a wave of wait list and nothing else. For that reason it's hard for me to imagine that they are going in alphabetical order or something. But we're working off limited info so who knows.

I'm hoping they are going in alphabetical order seeing as how someone who got on the waitlist said their last name begins with a C. But it does seem like it's been mostly wait list notifications today...we can only hope it's alphabetical order...😞 this wait is intense! Best of luck to all of us still waiting for our admission status 😊

@ Hanabiwabi . I don't really believe him. They gotta keep things calm. Imagine if he said all acceptances already went out... the office would be inundated with calls, emails, visits.

Ya exactly. I don't fault them for it if it is just a line they are saying. not their job to personally deliver the results over the phone.

Am I the only one that is confused about the times that show for each of your posts? The most recent ones show past 11pm.. When in reality it is 3 pm.

I got wait listed, low thirties. I'm pretty happy, even though I recognize a lot of things would have to fall into place for a spot to open up for me. My decision status on the UCLA site still says "to date, no admission status has been reached."

i think it is the pattern, acceptance, than waitlist today by ranking, then all others will be rejection.
