2 semesters into UVic. Unfortunately they've been kind of all over the map with when synchronous classes happen. Both our semesters have had: 1) NP courses on Thursday mornings from 9-12.  2) MN core courses in evenings, variable days. Term 1 it was Thursday evenings from 5-8. They're still trying to improve letting us know sooner when synchronous stuff is happening but it's a work in progress.

Thanks so much for all this information, @alibaba3! I really appreciate it. It's so helpful to hear from current students 🙂

Hi everyone, newbie here, received my acceptance email from UVIC this morning!

For reference, I applied to the regular MN (NP) stream at UVIC only.
Approx. 3 years of experience working as an RN. Majority spent in community.

Work experience consists of acute care, working with a regional COVID-19 team (LTC, HH, Immunizations etc.) and program development projects where I implemented the first ever role of nursing onto a niche program in a major health authority. I work alongside a multidisciplinary team of allied health members (SW, OT, PT, SLP etc.) as a CRN and case manager. My experience has largely focused on holistic care, health education, chronic disease management, illness prevention and health promotion. Seeing the gaps and barriers in our system has largely motivated me to pursue this higher education.
Grades: A+ average.
References: Current work manager (not a nurse) and BSN preceptorship clinical instructor.

Hope this information helps anyone thinking of applying. Feel free to message if you would like to discuss more in regards to the application process.

Congratulations to everyone who received an acceptance and to those who didn't, do not let that deter you from re-applying!

Hi everyone! For those of you on the UVic waitlist, I have accepted TRU and declined my UVic offer... so one extra UVic spot will become available soon. 🙂

For those of you who weren't successful this round, I hope you keep applying for future intakes. To give hope to other applicants without high grades: my undergrad grades were not strong (81% in my last two years of nursing school), but I've been a nurse for 15 years with a lot of varied experiences and additional certifications. Please feel free to PM me if you want any advice.

I hope everyone has a lovely long weekend!

Currently on the waitlist for UVic and sooooo anxious! Refreshing inbox constantly LOL congrats to everyone who got in!

Hey all has anyone on the UBC waitlist heard back yet? I am wondering when they'll start notifying the waitlisted individuals about the status of their application... The wait is driving me nuts!

Hi,

I am also on the UBC waitlist. What I heard from others was that once the deadline for the 1st offers that went out end, which should've been I think March 30th. Then there is usually a big shuffle the week or two after. Then a very small shuffle in Summer and then 1st week of September.

So I feel for UBC waitlist the first shuffle should be this coming week or two.

Did anyone receive any info from UBC of how many on the waitlist? And if we can be told our place on the waitlist?

I agree the waiting is hard.

Thanks for sharing that info! Makes sense.. they told me I was half way down the wait list but not sure how many people are on the WL. I wish they provided us with more info

Has anyone gotten off the TRU waitlist? I'm so anxious!
