Did they mention when they'd be sending an actual offer letter?

No they didn't. This is what they said:

"Dear Cassidy,

Thank you for your note.

Yes this status on the dashboard does indicate admission. The next step is that Grad Admissions and Records will review the application files of all admitted students and send an email update soon with next steps."

And then I got another email that said:

"Hello Cassidy,

This is good news!

My office now will review which documents have been received and provide you with a list of provisions to meet.

Once all of those provisions (if any) have been met, then your status can change to full admission.

(Typical processing time for our review is 2 weeks.)

Please contact me if you need further assistance."

I'm in stats right now at TRU and I have to say it's a lot of work!!

Argh I'm dreading that Stats course... but need to sign up right away. Can I ask which one you're taking?

Congratulations to all of you who got in to both schools! What an accomplishment.

My first choice would have been UNBC; their program is more NP-focused as opposed to Master's focused, if that makes sense. My partner is in her final semester in the NP Program at UVic and the first year was full of the classic philosophy classes that drove her nuts. Still a great program though, but UNBC seems a bit better on that one in need-to-know information. I obviously weighed in with the "part-time" ness of UNBC... but it just makes it so you can work during the program. Which for me would be an absolute bonus. Wish I was given an option but I am rooting for all of you!

Thank you so much! Honestly I was shocked to be accepted at all, and couldn't believe I ended up having two schools to choose from. I am so grateful. Crossing my fingers for everyone who is awaiting decisions!

For anyone looking for a stats course — I'm taking SOCI 301 through Athabasca right now (almost done!) and it's been very fair. It includes 6 assignments, a midterm, and a final exam. I would recommend it.

I wonder if they know that the deadline to accept the ubc offer is March 31. Not having more details from uvic is making ubc seem like the better option.

And the deadline for TRU is also coming up quick — March 26! I'm still trying to make a final decision between TRU and UVic, but I still don't have an official offer from UVic (only the status change in the portal).

Psych 2101 which UVIC approved. Little good it will do for now 🫠 but I think it's good for 5 years

Can I ask for anyone who got in, what was your GPA? They took my blended GPA from my undergrad and advanced specialty because my BSN was slightly too low but did not get in. I will try again next year. Rework my personal statement and resume.

Is SOCI 301 doable to finish in 2 months?

Yes. I started Feb 1 and I'm just awaiting my final exam date now. I worked on it about one day per week.

Hi all,

I wanted to add some positives for

the UVic program. Most of the profs have been great. Each semester there is always one who isn't but the rest are fantastic. UVic has incredible scholarships, so it was actually incredibly affordable. They had a big donor this past year which gave many students $5000 towards school, so essentially my first year of tuition was covered.

All programs have a lot of masters courses, which aren't super helpful, but do set you up relatively well if you want to ever do research. They definitely take more time than I would like but they are interesting and important (making you an NP not just a crappy medical provider ☺️).

placements can be anywhere in BC, not just on the island! Anyhow, I hope this is helpful. I chose UVic over UBC because I couldn't justify the commuting time but I honestly think both options would be good!

congrats to everyone who got offers! And everyone who didn't or is waitlisted, keep trying ☺️ there will be lots more seats in the coming years!

Hey Everyone !

Currently sitting on the waitlist for UVIC and so hopeful to be offered a seat.

Does anyone know of anyone officially taking seats elsewhere??

Anyone who got in off the waitlist and are sitting fairly high did they notify you quite soon after you got your waitlist notification?
