  1. Mine still says under review by department too! So now I'm thinking maybe the refusals they are keeping till the end? It seems people who are accepted know, people have posted being waitlisted too.
  2. Mine is still under review by department . Haven't heard anything else.
  3. Yes of course. Things I did differently and what I added to my experience when I applied this time round: 1. I added volunteer experience, where I volunteered twice a month at a shelter. Doing basic wound care dressings. 2. I completely re-did my SOI and this time round I had like 10 people read it and give feedback. This included co-workers, my husband, teachers and non medical people. I worked on this for 2 months. Rewrote it 3-4 times. I really focused on being unique and showing flexibility. Keeping it very clear and to the point. 3. I had all 3 new references (doctor, CNS, CNE) they all had masters level or above. I told them what areas to focus on when writing my references so this ensured they weren't all similar. 4. I redid my CV and made it really detailed. My CV was 8 pages long. 5. I have certified practice in STI/CM and OUD. So this time when I applied I highlighted how many consults and scripts I've done. Which I didn't do last time. I added this to the CV. I hope this helps. I'm happy to answer anything else you may have questions on if what I did differently.
  4. I got offered admission this morning too! Last year I was waitlisted so super excited this time for getting offered a seat. Still waiting on UVIC too.
  5. Thank you! Still anxiously waiting to hear back from UVIC. Hopefully soon.
  6. So sorry to hear, I wish they did too. It would be helpful to know when we apply a 2nd time.
  7. So sorry! There was a waitlist last year, I was on it but never made it off. I still haven't heard from them. Wonder if they have already emailed accepted applicants.
  8. Congratulations!! I checked the portal no changes yet for me. Will keep waiting ?
  9. Did you hear from admissions yesterday if you got a seat? I'm still waiting, haven't heard anything.
  10. Hi, yes I did find it hard to find the exact 4 pillars they were referring too. But I stuck with the 4 I thought that were important out of the 5 on the CNA guidelines. I researched on various sites and chose the 4 I felt were more important. But you're right, many searches always showed 5.
  11. My background is mental health and substance use. I have CP in sti/cm. Last year I only applied to UBC, never made it off the waitlist. Hoping for good news this year.
  12. Thank you for starting this. I am also in process of applying to UBC! Wishing everyone good luck:)
