AP I Summer '08 - I need some study online buddies!!!

So I've decided to do the necessary evil of taking AP I over the summer. Yikes.

I'm only taking the lab & lecture; no other courses.

I need to have it done by Aug 31 to apply for the Fall '09 Charity S. Of N. in New Orleans.

Let's make this thread the OFFICIAL AP I 08 SUMMER!!!

just had some concerns do you think its possible to do a and p 1 and 2 in the summer and do well thanks for your input

Yes I think it's possible. A majority of students here take Anatomy in thhe summer so they can focus on it. (its a CC so not all classes are offered in summer, actually only a few are)

Both A&P 1and 2 are offered, Our teacher just opened up a A&P 2 in Summer B (the second half) and class was put on hold as the the majority of the class ran to enrollment to get in, it was quite funny.

I'm embarrased to report that it wasn't until I looked through my A&P books that I realized what "cat version" and "pig version" meant. *smacks forehead* For some reason I didn't think that we would be doing dissections in A&P.

Thanks for responding to my post!!

I'm psyched about A&P!!! Pt 1 is the last class I need to apply to CSN for fall 09!!!!

(I'm finishing the other general requirements in fall/spring before I start nursing school)

You can do the other courses while in nursing school.. but that would be insane!!

It's funny that CSN calls their program an associates degree because it takes you damn near 3-4 years to finish.. some 5.

I'm not going to foster another adn/bsn debate.. there is entirely too many!!

So anyone taking other classes too?

I need another class to be full time.. I think I'm going to take another psych or intro to sociology.. maybe my 2nd math requirement or english II...

What you think???

And what times are your classes?

I'm going to schedule tomorrow.. I'm thinking about doing the 2x week 6-9pm lecture [because the prof is awesome!!!!!] and then a day 2x week 2-5 lab.

2nd class will have to be online so I can still work part time.

i am also taking a&p1 the first summer session, i am also taking basic matha and pre alegebra this summer also or i will not get all of my financial aid.:bowingpur

Unless something goes horribly wrong, I will be registering for A&P I and Growth and Development in about...4 hours from now.

Both are 8 week courses, and both are online. The idea of doing A&P online is a little scary to me, but I'll do it for the sake of getting it out of the way; I can do anything for 8 weeks. I just have to keep telling myself "it's only 8 weeks!"

(They run from June 2nd to August 7th, by the way.)

I could throw Nutrition in there for Summer II, but I'm only crazy, not suicidal.

So, if all goes well and I'm able to get registered, I'm definitely game for a study group!

I'm taking A&P 1 this summer. I started on May 6th. 6:30pm-8:20pm Tuesdays and Thursdays. My professor is great! He told us we probably won't use the book much. I already had it from when I signed up last semester, but dropped the class. ($184!).

Hey Parade, looks like we'll be working at the same pace. My class is 6/2-8/8. I'm also doing mine online so we'll have to work together. I'm taking Statistics, I'm more worried about it than I am A&P. I took A&P 11 years ago so I'm retaking it. I took Nutrition 6 years ago, I loved it. I had an awesome teacher. The only class I've ever done through distance education was Human Growth and Development. It was basically an independent study, no internet or video lecture. Just a book and short video for each unit.

I think the online classes will be much easier since you have more interaction with the teacher and other students. Plus an infinite number of resources that are available.

I'm all registered and official now!

But of course, I drive the 3 hour round trip to get to campus to pay and pick up books, and they don't have the books I need. I got a PSB study guide and a shiny, fresh new Taber's, but it'll be the middle of NEXT week before I can get my real books.

Oh well, at least I'm all official now. I'm excited, but sorta scared at the same time. 7 hours is kinda intimidating, but I can handle it. A&P I and Growth and Development isn't that heavy of a load, I don't think...but I may be proven wrong!

I'm crazy- I'm taking A&P I and II AND Psych 101 and Soc 101. My school does Summer I and II, which is actually a set up I've discovered I really like. I'm good with intense focus in the short term, less so with balancing many things more spread out.

Ditto on the :bugeyes: crazyness. Taking A&P I, Psych 101 and Mat101, all full summer classes. Start May 19th! This is what I needed to finish up by fall. Trying my hardest to get on the list. Midlands Tech student here. Count me in for the group - Lord knows i'll need it!! GLE

Ok, started A&P1 last monday and i'm already stressing out!!! I have so much to study and so much to read....just trying to breathe at the moment and needed to vent.
