  1. I'm also taking Micro this fall along with A&P 2. I stuck with the same professor I had for A&P 1 because I like his style and know what to expect. A friend of mine took Micro this summer with the same professor I will have, so I found out what textbook she uses and ordered one. My friend suggested reading the first few chapters before the class even begins. I'm actually looking forward to Micro. Lynn
  2. Congrats, Carlos! That's quite an accomplishment. I just took big exam 2 and got 105 (the 5 points was extra credit). I have my first practical exam on July 1. It shouldn't be so bad. We've been studying the bones up close and personal for like 2 weeks now. Again, congratulations on your A. Lynn
  3. I just started College Algebra. I'm taking it online. I had to start from the beginning. Elementary Algebra and then Intermediate Algebra. I hope I do well. I got an A in the first two. Lynn
  4. I just wanted to add...I have noticed at my school that there are a lot of "older" students. In my Anatomy class, there are probably 6 or 7 students who are in the 30+ age group and we all want to be nurses. I also read somewhere that the 30+ age group is the fastest growing group of people who are enrolling in college. Lynn
  5. I say go for it! I'm 46! I just started last year and am almost finished with my pre-reqs. I'm definitely fulfilling my dream and you should too. Lynn
  6. Count me in! So far we've had two quizzes (8.6/10 and 10/10) and the first exam (98!). It was on the intro to anatomy, chemistry, body planes, and cells. My professor, so far, has been great. Lynn (at FCCJ in Jax, FL)
  7. I take his class notes and put them on index cards and take them everywhere I go. When I get a few minutes, I look through them and basically memorize each card to the point where I can close my eyes and visualize what is on each one. It really helped a lot! Everything that was on the test came straight from the note packets he hands out for each chapter. I love his teaching style. Lynn
  8. Hmm I don't see my post that I just posted. I started AP1 on May 6th. So far two quizzes (86 and ? not back yet) and one exam (98). Professor tells us exactly what to study, which I like. We're using the Marieb textbook. My professor doesn't like to use it but says it's "good reference". Lynn
  9. ignore this one...I'm a newb...
  10. Mixy, I'm finding out that I'm a MUCH better student this time around. I figure this is my "last chance" at school, so I'm making the best of it. I am 46 years old and I'm so determined to get my degree. I hope I at least make it out of school by the time I'm 50. LOL. I'm young at heart, so I figure I have plenty of time to be in the work force. Lynn
  11. I'm taking A&P 1 this summer. I started on May 6th. 6:30pm-8:20pm Tuesdays and Thursdays. My professor is great! He told us we probably won't use the book much. I already had it from when I signed up last semester, but dropped the class. ($184!). Lynn
  12. Congrats on all the great grades! Here's mine... CHM1020 Chemistry A ENC1102 English 2 A MAT1033 Intermediate Algebra A SLS 1103 Strategies for Success A The last class was basically a gpa booster. Unfortunately, I started at FCCJ with my gpa from when I went to college back in the 80's. I started with a 2.44 and over the last two semesters, I have raised it to a 2.81. Lynn
  13. Wow...I can't imagine doing A&P 1 in 5 weeks. Good luck! I'm taking it right now, but a 16 week course.
  14. I hope for the best for you! As it looks now, I'll be done with my pre-reqs after the fall semester, but I read last night I can't apply until I'm done with A&P 2, which won't end until after the deadline for Spring 2009. So it looks like it's Summer 2009 for me. Lynn
  15. Sorry I didn't get back to you. I didn't get back to the boards because of this chemistry class that consumed like 99% of my time. I am taking A&P 1 and College Algebra this summer and then in the Fall I'll be taking A&P 2 and Microbiology, which will finish up my pre-reqs. I'm also taking a Humanities course in the Fall to finish up my AA. I almost took A&P 1 online during the Spring Semester. I had a nightmare about it and dropped it before the class ever began. I found out from a friend in my Chemistry class that she took it online and it was really hard and the instructor she had NEVER answered emails. So I guess I was right by going with my gut instinct. I can't wait to start it. My class starts May 6. Taking it at Deerwood. Lynn
