AP I Summer '08 - I need some study online buddies!!!

Published

So I've decided to do the necessary evil of taking AP I over the summer. Yikes.

I'm only taking the lab & lecture; no other courses.

I need to have it done by Aug 31 to apply for the Fall '09 Charity S. Of N. in New Orleans.

Let's make this thread the OFFICIAL AP I 08 SUMMER!!!

Who's with me?!?!

:nurse:

I'm at Clovis for AP I, there are no prereqs for this.... there is really is no lecture, but you have to read on your own. Its hard at first, but you get use to it.

oh and the tests are timed, so you have about 1 minute per question. After that the computer turns off the test.

Well I completely bombed my second test. I'm taking it online and I just haven't quite figured out how to absorb all of this information. I'm quite stressed. My grade for the class has dropped to a C, that will still get me credit but I really wanted to do better. I have a lab test either Monday or Tuesday, I'll take it Tuesday because I'm not ready for it.

Here is how I study,

I read the lecture notes, in Java AND PowerPoint form, highlighting the book as I go. I read the chapter. I use the study guide to make notecards and then review them. I also use various websites to test myself. I utilize every moment, I study between calls at work. I am taking Statistics online as well and that does take up some of my study time.

What else could I be doing?

Hi All. Just finished the second week of class. The instructor started the class out telling us that if you don't get an A in A&P they won't even consider you for nursing school and that he expects at least eight of us to drop. He was right. So far seven have.

First lab quiz was last week and I got a 100. Monday is our first lecture exam on chapters 1-4. 100 questions worth 1 pt each, all multiple choice or matching. Wednesday is our first lab practical. He doesn't teach ANYTHING in lab. He states it is not his job to teach in that class, only our job to do what the book says and he is only there to answer questions. Gah.

So today is study study study. I have found I am an audio learner primarily. I tend to remember things I hear. He has told us in lecture the test questions come directly from his lectures, so I have purchased a digital recorder to use the rest of the term. I would love to find some recorded lectures online if anyone knows of any.

Our comprehensive final is optional. We don't have to take it unless we want the grade we make on it to replace another low test score. No quiz in lecture...just five exams and the optional final.

Hey A&P people, just an update, I got an A in A&P 1 and just started A&P 2 last week.

We just did a heart dissection, it was the coolest thing I've ever dissected. The heart is amazing! I hope you all get to do some dissecting in your class!!
