I am now playing the waiting game. Applied to only 1 school for Spring of 2012, finished my pre-req's with a 3.7 GPA and passed the NLN in the 94 percentile. Now Im waiting to hear whether or not I got in. Advisor said decision would be made middle of this month with letters going out end of this month. These weeks seem to be dragging. I feel confident I got in with my scores but who knows how everyone else did. So there is always that doubt.
Just looking for some company for those playing the waiting game too.
Hi everyone,
I am waiting for my letter too. They won't get mailed out until May 15th, and then class starts a whole 2 weeks later on June 1st!
Not much time to prepare if I get accepted. I am a real planner, I hate not knowing what is going to happen! I guess I will have to make a got accepted plan, and a got turned down plan. Then I will have all my bases covered.
I applied to our local college in November (the first day applications were available!). I find out on Monday if I am accepted into the Practical Nursing program at Algonquin College, Pembroke, Ontario. This college has a class of only 40 students with a 100% pass rate on the exam for the last five years! I am 43 (soon 44) and finally am taking an opportunity to fulfill a childhood dream! :)
I just got my interview letter yay! Interviews will take place on Valentines Day. They decide by factoring in TABE scores, TEAS scores, Academic/work achievement, and the interview. The only thing I don't have is my CNA certification that it says is strongly recommended. That is kind of stressing me out. I hope not being a CNA won't hinder me getting in

Hey, I'm not alone! I'm almost 42, and hope to start the RN program this fall. I've been working since this summer to get all my prereqs finished and am so excited about starting my 2nd career! I won't hear anything until mid March, and then, only to find out if I make it into the interview process.

Wow! It's all about me - almost 42, second career, still working on A&P, Psych and English (all second parts)... and it looks like there won't be any news until March from admissions either :^) Good luck!
Katrin,
That is pretty amazing! I finished A&P last semester and loved it! I'm finishing up my co requisites now, and also taking a couple of extra classes, but no science. I wanted as much done as possible so I could just focus on the nursing program. Good luck to you too. You'll have to let me know what you hear. I'm having such a good time going to school at my "advanced age", but I really want to get in this fall and get going.
I was accepted! I got a phone call tonight but a letter should arrive tomorrow or Wednesday. I am very excited. I know the next few months will be busy getting ready and finding a part time job. I currently do home daycare but that won't work with college classes. I took Medical Terminology in hopes of finding a patient info job at the hospital but not haven't heard back yet. They will probably be hiring in a few months. Here's hoping you get your acceptance letters too!

I'm applying to 8 schools! I still have transcripts being mailed so none of my applications are complete. Due dates are coming up so we'll see what happens after that.
I got the ATI book to study for the TEAS 5 so I'm trying to make time for that.
