Let's have some fun learning. Each person should throw out 5 random facts or "things to remember" before taking your finals, HESI, NCLEX, etc.
Updated:
OK I know this sounds stupid but I have a friend that gets really freaked out before big tests like finals, HESI, NCLEX, and usually we get together and a few days before I start throwing out random facts at her. On 2 different tests she said the only way she got several questions was from the random facts that I threw at her that she never would have thought of!
SOOOOO..... I thought that if yall wanted to do this we could get a thread going and try to throw out 5 random facts or "things to remember". NCLEX is coming and the more I try to review content the more I realize that I have forgotten so......here are my 5 random facts for ya:
OH and BTW these came from rationales in Kaplan or Saunders no made up stuff:
1️⃣ A kid with Hepatitis A can return to school 1 week within the onset of jaundice.
2️⃣ After a patient has dialysis they may have a slight fever...this is normal due to the fact that the dialysis solution is warmed by the machine.
3️⃣ Hyperkalemia presents on an EKG as tall peaked T-waves
4️⃣ The antidote for Mag Sulfate toxicity is ---Calcium Gluconate
5️⃣ Impetigo is a CONTAGEOUS skin disorder and the person needs to wash ALL linens and dishes seperate from the family. They also need to wash their hands frequently and avoid contact.
Oh, ohh, one more...
? Vasopressin is also known as antidiuretic hormone
OK your turn....
Kmason and ment2be, congradulations new nurses. WooHoo!!!!!
Tips:
Be sure to rest well the night before NCLEX!
Eat a good breakfast.
Remember it is just a test.
Remember you can do this.
Read each question twice ( or more ) even if you think you know the answer. ( better safe than sorry )
Don't do any last minute cramming!!!!!
Good luck!
I want to thank everyone that has ever posted on this thread. It has been a blessing and a great addition to my study materials. I took the NCLEX today and it stopped at 75 questions. I can't remember much about the whole test. I do know that I had a lot of prioritization and infection control questions. I did not have a single alternate style question. Pray for me.
AVOMEJET, great work, but i have to something to point out for your number 6 under cardiovascular. I was taught that patients with peripheral arterial disease should keep their legs dependent and patients with peripheral venous disease (as in DVT) should elevate their legs. Each one is different as far as circulation to the extremities and the body. Its also in Saunders.
dont be gloomy sunnybunny75.. were almost at the end. thinking positive brings positive results...i have a new one:
soli par ass coop (sounds wierd but its how i remember it)
solitary play-infants
parallel play-toddlers
associative play-preschoolers
cooperative play-school age
what a good idea!

Hi guys! I just recently graduated in June, took a month off to self-study and do KAPLAN then took the nclex in august and passed. I just have a question, what questions do they normally ask in an interview? I'm having an interview with the hospital that I applied to tomorrow and I'm nervous as hell (knowing that I don't go so well at interviews, it's making me nervous) I don't have a problem doing what I'm suppose to do but sometimes it just gets me so intimidated when you're in a big room full of people trying to get a piece of you asking you all these questions, lol! and the silence is just nerve racking. Need some word of advice here, I really appreciate it! Thank you!
