  1. which state are u at?
  2. hey we're on the same boat but with me I have 5 yrs RN experience in England and I came to U.S and did my boards in november '08 so I passed and till now I dont have a job. No one will hire me bcos I dont have 1 year RN experience here in States. so how am I going to get my bloody experience if no one will hire me. so ****** off. And where I work as nursing aid, my managers wont even help me actually the whole hospital is not very supposrtive of me now that I'm RN they're not even offering me jobs isnt that ridiculous! And I have to shadow an RN in my own time and no pay just to get experience on what the RN's do, but even that manager's just dont give a **** about me and they just passed me by and they keep walking on.
  3. thank u. but if I do the agency RN I think they might want someone with experience here in California and I dont have that yet as RN. Unless will the agency and hospital give me 6 weeks preceptorship?
  4. I passed my NCLEX last week and finally I'm an RN but now I cant get a job anywhere. Spoke to my manager where I'm currently working as a PCT and she said to me that there are no RN jobs vacancy left for me, she said that the hiring job was done in oct. And I was too late amd missed the hiring list. So basically the job vacancy's that they have posted and are still posted online dont matter to them if people applied online for those vacancies bcos they already hired people. So what the hell is the point of still putting the vacancies online if they're already been filled. I am applying everywhere but they dont seem to consider my 5 yrs experience med/surg and charge nurse in U.K, they want critical care experience for at least a year here in U.S. So now I'm applying for another PCT job to make ends meet atleast I can be sure that I have some job. and plus I signed up for shadowing an RN, it's the next best thing to being an RN and no pay. I havent worked as an RN since I left U.K last year sept. And now that I'm an RN I still cant seem to do that. so frustrating, if I knew that this is what's going to happen here in U.S I would have just stayed in U.K. I dont know what the big fuss is all about working here in U.S as an RN. What a palava. The confidence that I had as an RN was crushed when my manager turned me down, i feel that I'm not being treated fairly.
  5. I have the same problem at work here with low census, this pay period i only worked 15 hours cos I kept being cancelled, it sucks. do all hospital cancel staff if its low census, I worked in U.K and we never cancel staff wether per diem, part time or full time. if ur on schedule to work then your working no question about it. I asked the staffing the same question on how do they keep track on who to cancel and they too gave me different answers.
