Excelsior College, yes they are accredited and yes your credits will transfer. Go to Distance Learning for Nursing Forum to find all the answer(s) to you questions, you will get an overload of information on LPN-RN online programs. Also, you can find them on facebook.
Best of Luck.

Just go to your state board of nursing and look for the approved schools list. It will give you all the schools and colleges they accept. Good Luck!

Excelsior College offers a distance-based LPN-to-RN associates degree program, and Indiana State University offers an online LPN-to-RN/bachelor of science in nursing program. Both programs are accredited; however, not all state boards of nursing will grant licensure for having completed Excelsior's program due to issues with clinical hours.

I did Excelsior, and the best choice for me.
well, i know multiple people who have gone to excelsior (one who graduated), and they all say it's a sham! i've looked into it myself and have come to the same conclusion.
for one, once you register, you have to pay the full tuition, whether you complete it or not. of course everyone has intentions of completing, but things happen. i have a friend who registered, then finally got a call from her local cc (who would've thought, after being on the waiting list for three years!!). she had not taken or even registered for a single class, all she had done was enroll in the school. she was told that she would still be responsible for the full $9,500 in tuition. fortunately, her mother is also an lpn looking to transition and was willing to take that load off of her back.
i know several other people who have gone through the program at the speed of light, only to wait six months for placement in clinicals. they usually had to fly out to another state for clinicals and only got 3 days worth before receiving a passing or failing grade. needless to say, most of them fail.
now i'm not looking for a sure shot, but i would need to feel much more stable and a better sense of organization as well as preparedness from a program after shelling out so much dough to do a bridge. i'm definitely not saying it can't be done, just saying i would prefer to do it differently.
just my !
Your friend probaly signed up for The College Network , because when I signed up for Excelsior, you are generally responsible for your enrollment fee, and then your annual fee after a year. You generally pay for your exams as you go along. Yes you do go for your clinicals (CPNE) and yes it is for 3 days , but no it's not easy. You generally take months to prepare for it. Those of us who attend and graduate from Excelsior are proud. Many people attempt Excelsior, but not all finish. If it was a sham or scam, then it would be a gimme. It's not a sham, it just isn't for you. For thousands of other nurses it's there way.
I'm pretty sure she signed up for Excelsior, but maybe I didn't get the full story on why they wouldn't reimburse her. Either way though, she didn't register for any classes, but (for one reason or another) was told that she would have to cough up the full cost of tuition as though she'd completed the entire program.
BTW, if you read my post, you'll see that I NEVER said it was easy. As a matter of fact I (intentionally) implied that it was unreasonably difficult by saying that (according to my information) most people fail clinicals. I feel that 3 days is a joke! Not enough time to pass or fail someone. Now with that said, I will admit that I had NO IDEA that you prep for it for months prior. I kind of thought they just dumped ya'll there and gave you 3 days to prove yourself. That's why I felt it was lacking in preparation.
I really wasn't trying to offend any Excelsior Alumni and I apologize if I did. Those of you "who attend and graduate from Excelsior are proud", as well you should be. You accomplished something major that many others attempt and fail. Like I said, I'm not saying it can't be done, just that I would do it differently.
