Anyone heard from SFSU GMSN?

Published

Hi all!

I just found this board and it's awesome! I wish I had had this information a few years back when I was starting all of my pre-req's!

Just a quick question - I've still waiting for letters from SFSU's Generic MSN program. Has anyone else heard? If so, what was your emphasis? I chose Adult Critical Care.

Thanks so much!

Hey,

I got an acceptance letter last week for the Women's Health track.....i dont think i am going to take it though.

I live in the east bay and got into a school over here where i can get an NP rather than a generic masters. I do love the state school tuition at Sf state though!

Good luck to you! Where else did you apply?

I applied to UCSF's NP program and didn't get in (600+ applicants for only 50 spots!) and College of San Mateo's 2-year RN program (wait-listed #24). This is the last one I'm waiting for and it's KILLING me! ARGH!! I know it should be soon. :banghead: It's taken me 2+ years to do pre-req's since I have 2 little ones at home (4.5 & 3 at this point). I'm willing to wait another year though and I'll probably get into CSM's program (hopefully). Thanks so much. :D

I guess they are sending out the acceptances first, since Crisbiss got hers (Congratulations, by the way). Did they give you a date to reply by? I've heard that some people on the waitlist may not find out until literally the day before class starts! Insert sigh .

We all made such sacrifices to apply, with the pre-req's and all. I also have a 3 year old son, and work full time. I hope it wasn't all for nothing!

Can you all believe it is taking this long? I'm in pure agony. But, these postings make me feel less alone!

Hi and Thanks!

They gave me until 4/18 to reply to them about the program.

Yes, i have definitly made some sacrifices to get into nursing school....and ha ha, the jokes on me..... i just signed up for 3 more years of major sacrifice!

No really, i am thrilled to actually be starting NS...i have been trying for the past 3 years and finally this was the year!

Good luck to everyone!

I'm just wondering if anyone else has heard from SFSU's GMSN program? I've heard from people who got waitlisted and accepted. But, I still haven't heard anything yet. I just spoke with someone in the Nursing Department, and she said it's a "slow process" and that not all of the letters have gone out...

ARGH! I'm waiting too and as time passes (it's now the 22nd) I get the feeling that I have NOT been accepted. GRRR.

It is sheer agony waiting. I hope it's not the case that some people don't hear until the day before the program starts. I currently work full-time and can't give them a one day notice.

I've been crossing my fingers and hope, hope, hoping that the letter comes soon. Do you know if I'll get a letter for both admission or denial?

Fortunately I did get into the 2nd BSN program at CSUEB so I am going to school somewhere. But I'd really rather not have to cross a bridge every day!

Congrats to those who got in! Empathy to those still waiting!

Hey Crazyframes,

Welcome to the club of people who haven't gotten a letter. Maybe we should just start our own nursing school? Haha.

My mailbox has taken a beaten these past few weeks. I'm sure I'm going to break it one day soon.

To answer your question: Apparently they do send out letters to everyone.

Congratulations to you for getting in somewhere though!

Bummer news. I got my non-admission letter in the mail. So unfortunately I will not be joining the ranks of those attending SFSU.

Best of luck to those who do get in!

Sorry to hear that---but, at least you applied to more than one school (unlike me).

And, I still haven't heard, but I'm expecting the rejection today. At least I will have some closure.

Chin up camper. You don't know until you actually have the letter in your hand!

And this is my second go around for applications. This time I broadened my horizons and ended up getting in somewhere. You can do it!!

I'm still waiting for mine too! I'm hoping - against hope - that it's a positive, but I'm moving on with my life and am going to re-apply next year (though probably not to this program). I'll let everyone know when I get mine too!
