Anyone ever take NCLEX right after school & no extra studying? And Pass?

Published

Just taking a poll. I'm wondering if any/how many took NCLEX RN right out of school and passed pretty much w/out any studying or with very little review? I read one poster that that happened too, and am wondering how many others. I have 10 days to take mine and just now will begin studying. Too burnt out on studying after school, needed time off, then lost motivatioin. Now crunch, Im motivated! Yet somehow I wonder does it really help or is it just that you know the stuff deep down to begin with. Not sure! From what I understand folks end up guessing at the majority anyway!

So curious about how long folks study in general and passed.

I believe it is the quailty of your education that will let you pass rather than not studying..If your school emphasized all the main points, then you are ready..But you know all schools are not created equal in terms of preparing you for NCLEX..

I agree.

When I took my NCLEX 4+ years ago, I REFUSED [EVIL][/EVIL] to study for the big one. No way, no how. Got stuck with 265 questions; took 63 minutes to answer. Carefully selected answers and DID NOT CHANGE ANY. Sweated out the wait, passed. Not recommended for those with weak hearts. I believe that one can "overstudy". Good luck to everyone taking bords. Woa! 63 minutes? I would not at all be able to go that fast... I believe my average time for 75 questions in school...was about 90 minutes...so if I get 265...oh dear... I'll be there a very long time!! I like to read questions a couple times though. Yeesh..I hope I don't get 200 plus.

I always was the first to finish tests, I certainly am not RECOMMENDING my philosophy here, it's just the way that I work.....I think I got lucky........ and I really CAN spell "boards"........

I did not take the NCLEX yet..I wished that the school based their lectures on the Saunders NCLEX book so people could pass..

I take the PN NCLEX in 5 days. I have about 15 hours total to prepare. I am getting an average of 70% of the questions correct on my Saunders CD. Is that good enough? I graduated in May with A's and B's. Should I reschedule and give myself more time?

Hey Lisa...well here's my experience with the PN... several classmates of mine took it w/out studying during our schooling and passed just fine. ;) You'll be okay!!

I'm taking the RN tomorrow morning and I'm feelin' sick already but maybe that's the 3 icecream bars I just gulped!!! Ya think?!? :uhoh3: I am going in w/out studying/practicing and just going for it. School was supposed to prep us; I got a 99 percent chance of passing nclex when I took the ATI... so I'm going for it. We'll see!

It shut off at 75 questions. It felt like so much of it was peds...even the prioritization (about 1/3 of my test, the last 1/3).....

Man I'm worried!

I'm with you, happygrad! I took mine this morning and got 75 questions. I just have no clue how I did. I think all the stress caught up with me because I just cried my eyes out for 10 minutes straight. :scrying: This is going to a long 40 hours...

I just cried my eyes out for 10 minutes straight.

I did too!!! :chair:

You guys are crazy!!!!!

I studied soooooo hard and thought the nclex-rn was haaaaaaard. 115 questions, and yeah if I could cry I would be (for some reason I don't cry...)! I took it today too, and though I don't know any of you, I will cheer for you if you pass!

You guys are crazy!!!!!

Well yeah, nursing school will do that to you. ;)

And you know it's the road to developing that nursing sense of humor..ya know..

Yes...the nclex rn is hard...no matter what... it's hard. I've read posts by people on other threads who have studied a ton..and still think..they didn't know the stuff. So...who knows!

I was just too burnt from school.... And I thought you know..I'm going for it. :)

I'll cheer anyone on who passes...it's a horrible test..as everyone knows..and dogone it..if anyone passes they deserve congrats!! :)
