Anyone else starting RN-to-BSN on 7/1?

Nursing Students Western Governors

In addition to the message board and other resources on the student portal, I was hoping to meet and chat with other RN-to-BSN students who also will be starting on 7/1 to see how you're getting prepared and to keep in contact once classes start.

I just finished my Readiness Assessment, all except the Survey -- it keeps timing out and won't let me go past the first question! Very frustrating :( If it's not working tomorrow morning I guess I will have to call.

WGU has officially received all of my transcripts, readiness test done, now a wait and see on the transcript evaluation....weekly mtg with enrollment counselor tomorrow....let's see what the next step is. Still looking at an Aug/Sept start date for me though..

I started 6/1 - good luck to all you 7/1 peeps! nine units done already so hurry up and get started. :)

Wow, that's wonderful featherzRN! How many classes in total do you have to take (gen ed and nursing)?

Lots. =( I have 50 units to take thanks to not getting credit for a bunch of things. I hope to have 12 done by the end of the first month, then I am trying for another 12 in the next month or so. That will catch me up to people who start with not much coming in. :) Of course, best laid plans and all..

You can do it!!! :)

nursehuffandpuff, what did you think about EWB orientation? I've done online classes before, but never an entire program. Hopefully the student portal, Task Stream, and all of the other things are as user-friendly as everyone's made them out to be :bookworm: Have you heard from your student mentor? Mine sent all of her mentees an email today, and first calls start tomorrow! Also, not sure if you noticed, but when you log onto the student portal and click on Degree Plan, all of the program's Courses of Study can be assessed. I browsed through a few classes to get an idea of how they were set up, and it looks like the materials (reading, videos, lectures, etc.) are available to start!

I have been working on my EWB but I am so tired today that I only finished module one and I work tomorrow and the next day so we'll see how that goes. But I was excited to poke around the courses, the only thing that doesn't seem to be available is the details for the assignments and I can't figure out how to get the e-books. But like I said I've only done one of the modules so far.

Excited.

I am right along with you! 7/1 start for me! I'm excited but nervous! 3 prereqs biochem, stats, and health assessment! I'd love to exchange email addresses for 7/1 starters!

I start 7/1! 36 credits stand between me and my BSN! Then on to MSN in Leadership & Mgmt if everything goes well. ;)

Specializes in Case Mgmt; Mat/Child, Critical Care.

I started yesterday, July 1 in the RN-MSN Leadership track. I'm working on the BSN part 1st, of course. I'm excited; everything seems to be moving along well... I'm glad to know there are others here in the same spot. The encouragement and support will be good!

I took my Care of the Elder pre-assessment yesterday and was very happy to make a 75%, the cutoff score was 70. My webcam isn't going to come until next week but I think I'm going to take my proctored exam straight away (minus the 5 days it takes to schedule it).
