You really enjoy pointing this out, don't you? Because you did on the thread about vacation time too.

I'm married to a fireman. Wouldn't change it for the world. We understand each other for the most part. Plus he's super sexy and is a great cook.

Everyone else dont don't understand the stresses that come with nursing.

There are certain personality types that are drawn to become docs and generally don't find those personalites to be very appealing.

Cheers :)

Please, keep letting fly with the offensive stereotypes..... We police families so enjoy that.

Thanks for editing. My comment looks odd now, but that's alright.

Another woman worked her tail off to put her husband through med school, and the night he graduated he told her he was leaving her for another woman.

What a douche bag! Imagine the heartbreak she must have experienced. That's sad

Karma will get him, eventually. And she can be one nasty taskmistress when the time comes..... Faith in comeuppance is all that keeps you going sometimes.

Interesting thread - I just have to comment :)

I am a med student and have dated some med students and doctors.

One of the doctors turned out to be too full of himself, the other doctor was a manipulative player (...and is now dating a nurse who chooses to turn a blind eye to his affairs - she is known to be a co-dependent and so desperately wants a doctor and admire them so much, that I guess the title is more important to her than the person behind.)

One of the med students had to be in charge all the time, and it wasn't my cup of tea.

The other two was just normal guys :)

Several of my friends in med school are truly good guys, and I would be happy to date some of them if they didn't have girlfriends already. Some of them might not handle all the attention they get as fresh doctors and become players, but I think most of them are solid enough to stay true to themselves.

So I guess it's impossible to say something about med students in general :)

The one thing that can be said for them, at least the male ones, is that they are seen as a better catch by MANY young and immature women.

I have been in this game a long time. Back when I was first a nurse there were far fewer female med students and residents than there is now. Now most of the male residents and students I work with are already in relationships with other doctors/med students.

I have seen SO MANY pretty nice guy med students turn into manipulative players once they become residents, in particular surgical residents.

Another observation I have noticed over the last 5-10 years is female med students / residents getting involved with male nurses.

Both of the most recent cases of a doctor marrying a nurse I am aware of were female doctors marrying male nurses.

Come to think of it, I have also seen it happen more often with surgical residents... I stay faaar away from surgeons ;)

I know of one couple that it worked out well for.. She was a nurse and they met while he was in med school. She supported them during his time of med school/residency. Then he supported them and she was able to stay home with their kids. He is also the nicest doc I have ever known.

I'm a female nurse dating a doctor. I meet him when he was a 2nd resident. I stopped because I thought he was player. 4 years later he calls out of the blue, we go out and have been dating every since. He's an extremely nice guy, doesn't flirt, always professional. There are several out there. I used to work at a teaching facility and have witness more than a dozen female nurses marry residents or doctors. All ER, because we work so closely and hang out with each other after work. I mean we are all the same age... 20's to mid 30s mostly
