Hi,
Since there was a very extensive thread last year about application process to Yale, I thought I would start a new thread for 2009 hopefuls. I am working on my application and wanted to know who else chose Yale as one of their options. What program? How is the application process going? Essay writing? Any anxieties? I am applying to the Adult Advanced Practice Nursing but still deciding on the specialty. The hardest part for me is the essay writing as English is not my first language, but I have been working on it for some time now and getting close to finishing the final version. Anyone else wants to share?
Hi, this is my first time on this forum; should have checked this out sooner as the Yale forum is slow going!I'm from Seattle & applied for Adult NP/Women's Health. My interview is scheduled the 23rd at 3 pm, which I noticed coincides with someone else's on here (can't remember who...). This will be my first real visit to the east coast, and I am flying into DC for the inauguration & visit friends, and then a visit to Johns Hopkins. May try to swing a visit to Columbia as well, but don't know if it will work out timewise. Also applied to Emory, in Atlanta. Anyone else applied to Emory?
Also, will there be anyone else coming in from the DC area? I'm planning on the Bolt bus to NYC, then train to New Haven. I fly out of New Haven the 24th, so hope to have dinner and debrief with whoever will still be around!
I too have yet to hear back re a potential stay with a student, though Sandra has put my name out there. I plan to email her again this week, but I suspect the delay has something to with the holidays. I've been waiting to book a hotel, cuz don't know if I'll need it for 2 nights or just one!
Has there been any talk of people sharing a hotel room to decrease costs?
Hey Laura, My interview is on the 23rd @ 1PM ! Do you have any plans that day?
I hope that everyone is getting excited for interviews! My interview is on Jan 20th for the FNP track. Have people booked their hotel rooms? If so, where are people staying (somewhere affordable?)? I am coming from out of town, so I won't have a car and I need to stay somewhere that is close to Yale or has a (hopefully free) shuttle to Yale. I would love to get together with anyone who will be in town at the same time (Jan 18th-21st) for coffee or dinner. Also, how is everyone prepping for the interview? Please post or PM me if you have any suggestions for hotels or want to meet up! GOOD LUCK to everyone!
Hello all.....found your chat here interesting. I graduated from the ABSN program at the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY in May 2003. I had a BS in Health Science going into it. I lucked out and had all the reqs but never did take the GRE......thank god! Guess they didn't require it. Although I was in the first group to graduate form this program as it is new. There were 24 of us and the program has about doubled every year since then! So now with it so big they may be more competitive and require the GRE. .........Good luck to you all.

Not yet! Only plan is to find my hotel room. Think I'll be staying at the Super 8, but not sure yet. My guess is that we'll all have time to chat at the sessions and see what there is to do in town that night (if anything):wink2:
ahhh i'm starting to get nervous! only about a week to go...how is everyone preparing for the interview? does anyone know how long we wait for decisions after the interview? i'm starting to get nervous, but i guess i just need to keep telling myself that the interview is only 1 part of the entire application package and probably won't soley determine my admission/rejection. good luck to everyone and i can't wait to meet some of you next tuesday/wednesday!
They did not say yet. They do have a tentative one for tues and thurs. go to the interview section

I'm applying to the midwifery program! My interview is on the 21st. Where else are you interviewing? What made you decide to apply to Yale? I was just glad I didn't have to submit my GREs
