I thought I would start another thread about Yale GEPN. Would like to hear from anyone and everyone thats applying to the program for the fall of 2008? Its obvious that all of those that applied for the fall of this year have gotten their acceptance letters and congrats to them all, hopefully I will meet them all next year. In the meantime, I would like to hear from those going for the fall of 08. What were your major/degree in undergrad? Where are u now in the application process?
Hope to hear from all...

I'm not sure about DNP, but I believe a BSN is not required for admissions to a doctorate (Ph.D.) program in nursing. At least not in Yale, I don't think.I heard that many schools have started "phasing out" DNP programs and replacing it with Ph.D. programs, but then again I'm not sure. This is a good question since I'm interested in continuing on to get my Ph.D. down the road.
FYI: I am applying to PhD programs next year and a BS/BSN degree is not a requirement at ANY of the schools I've been looking at. (neither Yale, Penn, Duke, or Hopkins)
Good Luck Folks!

hey christina,
sorry about your letter. i think we're all learning what a difficult process this is -- especially at a school like yale, with so many applicants, it's just so competitive, they have to make some probably arbitrary decisions. i'm sure Angela and co will be more than happy to give you feedback on what they'd like you to improve. but hang in there! we support you! *hugs*
Hello All ,
I also received my rejection letter today. Sadly, I knew it was coming. I was not confident with my essay. I actually feel okay because I am applying to other programs and have an interview with another school in January. Sorry to hear for those who are saddened by the news.
I really want some insight into why I was rejected (pretty sure it was the essay though). How do you request a review. I've never done this. If anyone out there is familar, please let me know how to go about this and how long should I wait to request it.
Well, turns out a small envelope isn't such a bad thing...I just got an email from Angela saying that I was invited for an interview. I'm very excited!
I'm sorry for those of you who didn't get one, I can imagine how it must feel. There are so many qualified people who don't get in, so definitely don't give up and remember your options :)
Have a great holiday everyone!
