Students in Accelerated/2nd entry MSN programs: Who did you get your recc's from?
When I applied (note, I was waitlisted and am not enrolled), I received one rec from my undergrad professor who advised me in my economics honors thesis. The other 2 were from work colleagues. I've been out of school for almost 10 years and had to go back to my college and request a letter of rec since they required an academic one. I had to dig up a copy of my old thesis...it was a pain but she remembered me!

YES - I go through the same exact thought process. Trying not to think about it. The financial aspect is also on my mind though...I'm really concerned about if I do get in, how the heck am I supposed to pay for it...

Financing the whole thing
UGH - I am dreading the financing aspect as well. Loans are the solution apparently... I'm curious to know if there are any career changers out there like me who had a semi-decent salary prior to enrolling and got shafted in the financial aid for their first year for a full time program? How did you do it? Don't they take into consideration that you WON'T be working while in school full time? The EFC I got from FAFSA is totally ridiculous, couldn't pay it even if I were working full time while in school...hate that they have to consider your prior year's income...

1) You should get to Grand Central from JFK and take the MetroNorth to New Haven 2) You can buy tickets at the station - they have self-serve kiosks in addition to ticket booths at GC. 3) There are taxis at the station- Took this from the YSN Chat: YSN is about a half mile from the train station. When you walk out of the train station, go left on Union Ave. The first big intersection is Church St South. Take a right on Church St South. The school will be on your left. Also, if you come out of the train station and see a shuttle bus labeled the "Orange Line", jump on and tell them you're going to the nursing school. The Orange Line bus will be on the opposite side of the street from the train station.

At least you are getting some type of advising - I've got no support at all. Maybe I should see if my undergrad will even read my essays or something. What other programs are you applying to? What specialty are you considering?
