Anyone applying to NGCSU Fall 2012?

Published

Hi, I'm new to this site, and I just wanted to see who has all applied to North Georgia College and State University. Anyone with experiences, or others who have applied please reply with your stats...It would be greatly appreciated!

I'm just trying to get a general idea of what my stats should be like or what I should expect if im accepted. I have a 3.5 GPA and I just recently took my TEAS saturday so I am waiting on my score (Crosses fingers) :):):):)

Thanks!

I am in!!!!!! Just got my letter, I always thought ppl who cried when they got letters were crazy, I must be crazy too, cos I did cry.

My 2yr old is like, mommy u crying? I said yes, and she is like , that's okey...I soo needed this letter, been soo down the last few days.

Congrats! Where were you on the waitlist and what campus will you be at?

I got my acceptance letter as well!!!!! WoooHoooo! I was middle of the top, at the Lanier Tech/Forsyth/University Center Campus off exit 16 at 400! (They moved, so I wanted to make sure you all understood where I was going, haha!) I was so discouraged! Keep your spirits up, all who are still on that dreaded list!

Mine says exit 16 too

Congrats to all of you! I'm in the middle top, so I'm still waiting on a letter! (hopefully)

Those that were accepted earlier, how did you confirm ur acceptance. By mail of email, and did u have to pay anything?

Congrats to you all!! I am going to be at the Forsyth Campus as well. I emailed and mailed my acceptance, just to be sure they got it, probably a little overkill.....

I don't think I paid anything at that point, but I did have to pay the $200 confimation deposit for the college and once you get your check-off list (fun, fun) you will have to pay some out of pocket stuff, but nothing too bad. You'll have to do CPR (BLS) and your immunizations along with a few other items. Looking forward to meeting you all soon. I'm just wondering if we will hear anything more before orientation in August?

Congratulations to everyone getting their letters!!

I have spent close to $400 already, but my insurance is also horrible and I had to pay out of pocket for most of my shots and bloodwork. I did not have to pay the $200 confirmation deposit, I am guessing because I was a student at NGCSU several years ago. I made a list of costs (with my cost for shots, doctor, and bloodwork) and I will be paying around $850 for everything except books before the semester starts. Just to clarify that depending on what you need the costs might be pretty crazy!

Second day and I am 345$ down. $200 deposit and $145 for criminal background. I lived in ny so mine was 67 more. Already feeling the pinch. Have any of you applied for any scholarship ? I need to find some

I lived in NY at one point in my life, so I not only had to pay extra for the NY background check, I had to pay TWICE because I got married in NY, so they had to do a check on my maiden name AND my married name. It added about $120 to my background check!

Remember that the books are going to be expensive the first semester. The package/box offered at the bookstore last year was a bit over $400. There were a few books that weren't in the box that we needed to get and some that were optional but helpful. The people at the bookstore are helpful and if you order them in advance, I think you get a 10% discount. If you have the ISBNs, you should price check on Amazon and elsewhere. I did that last year and ultimately decided to just get the box, as the price difference between the box from the bookstore and getting the books elsewhere wasn't worth the hassle.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask. I just finished my first year and am enjoying my summer break. I'm thrilled to be halfway through nursing school!

Hello, again, congrats to everyone who was accepted! I was on the middle list top portion, and I just emailed them and now I've been moved up to the top of the top list! :) but for the people who was just accepted, when is the deadline for claiming your seat in the program? Trying to see how long I would probably have to wait!
