Hi, I'm new to this site, and I just wanted to see who has all applied to North Georgia College and State University. Anyone with experiences, or others who have applied please reply with your stats...It would be greatly appreciated!
I'm just trying to get a general idea of what my stats should be like or what I should expect if im accepted. I have a 3.5 GPA and I just recently took my TEAS saturday so I am waiting on my score (Crosses fingers) :):):):)
Thanks!
Tumbleweeds10 -- I knew you would get in!!!
I got my acceptance letter as well!!!!! WoooHoooo! I was middle of the top, at the Lanier Tech/Forsyth/University Center Campus off exit 16 at 400! (They moved, so I wanted to make sure you all understood where I was going, haha!) I was so discouraged! Keep your spirits up, all who are still on that dreaded list!
There's quite a bit we had to pay for. For one be sure you get in your $200 deposit to the school (admissions) to hold your place. If you don't get it in by their deadline the school will drop you.
Then we have a long list of things to do: vaccinations, background check, drug test, uniforms, stethoscope, etc. There is a checklist on the school website that lists everything you need to complete. We had about a month to get it all done.
I confirmed my acceptance by email and then I also mailed a copy of the form they sent with the acceptance letter.
Those that were accepted earlier, how did you confirm ur acceptance. By mail of email, and did u have to pay anything?
Thank you for your support sk8inghunny! I'm so glad to have a yes or a no, finally! I emailed my confirmation, and got a response from Linda Stover. I hope that covers it! I am hand taking my other papers as soon as possible, just to make sure all of my paperwork actually gets there. I may even take pictures of the person I hand it to, haha! We have to get our acceptance in by May 22nd, and all the paper work in by June 27th. Hang in there ashbrock!!!
Hi kmp5 - thanks for you good information about the books. Do you know when you knew which books (ISBNs-titles) you would need first semeser? I was hoping to get a head start but not sure where to access that information. I have heard form several nursing students that if you can get a head start reading, that is s good idea. Also would you say the clinical uniforms run true to size, especailly the zip front tops. Thanks so much for everyone's help and support.
The bookstore online will have ISBNs when they post the book lists for the fall. I was told that the Fundamentals of Nursing book will be a different version than the one we used, probably the updated version. The bookstore had most of our required books in a bundle that cost right over $400 plus a few others that we needed to buy plus some that were optional. I heard that the bookstore should have the books in sometime in July and that's probably when they'll have the lists up. I actually checked prices with Amazon and other online sources and the price for the bundle wasn't that much more than buying them piecemeal, so I just went with the bundle and picked them up at orientation at Dahlonega.
The uniforms run kind of weird, at least for me they did. I measured myself and ordered according to their chart. The shirts I got were so tight that I could barely zip them up and the pants were so big that I could've fit two people in them! I had time to return them and the exchange was no problem, even though I had to pay for return shipping. It must be a relatively common thing to have to return the uniforms, as their policy is clearly stated on their website and the return was easy.
