Anyone applying to NGCSU Fall 2012?

Published

Hi, I'm new to this site, and I just wanted to see who has all applied to North Georgia College and State University. Anyone with experiences, or others who have applied please reply with your stats...It would be greatly appreciated!

I'm just trying to get a general idea of what my stats should be like or what I should expect if im accepted. I have a 3.5 GPA and I just recently took my TEAS saturday so I am waiting on my score (Crosses fingers) :):):):)

Thanks!

I got my CPR certification at Gainesville College. I think Lanier Tech offers courses on a regular basis and my instructor was from there.

We are required to have our shots completed by the April deadline, so i would get It now. I just did my CPR certification, but it was a one time class and not offered again right now. There are some suggestions on the checklist at the ngcsu website.

Well the flu vaccine does say "required annually by Nov. 1st" so you may want to check and see if you can wait on it. It may not be necessary to have it done by April 23rd, it just looked that way to me.

When I got mine at the health department I was told they were running low, and would soon be out...she also mentioned that they do run completely out of it at times.

I will probably just get all my shots out of the way now, including flu. I don't usually get one, and I am not excited about it! But I would rather just know that it is done and over with than have to go back later.

Yeh, I had never had one either! I am not a big fan of immunizations, and over the last few weeks I went in and got one shot at a time to get caught up for nursing school! :)

I am not a fan of them either. That is a really good idea, I wish I had been doing that over the last few months. I feel like after I get all these shots I will also get deathly ill from them. I think nursing is the only reason I will let anyone shoot me up with vaccinations, ever!

I know! I don't do them at all. This is what I did - I'd suggest it for you as well.

The first day I went I had my titers drawn, I had the tuberculosis test, and I had the flu shot.

I then came back about a week later and had the TdaP. I had the DtaP as a baby, but it must be TdaP.

Then about 4 days later I came back and got the MMR vaccine.

The only reason I got the MMR is because I wasn't immune to ONE of the MMR components as showed by the titer results.

So you can get it all done in under 3 weeks!

Thanks for the tips! Looks like I need to get myself over to the health dept. pretty quickly unless I want them all at once.

I tried to reply to your PM but your box is full!

These fill up WAY too fast! I'll delete some, and try again! :) I did get one from you - but I didn't get a second.

You should be able to reply now.

Well, you gals are on top of things! I'm going to get started on the immunizations stuff and research the CPR, I did find one at Lanier Tech, I just need to make sure it is the right course, it's given from 9-3 in one day, does that sound right? I was CPR certified, but for teaching so I think that is a different class.
