Anyone applying to NGCSU Fall 2012?

Published

Hi, I'm new to this site, and I just wanted to see who has all applied to North Georgia College and State University. Anyone with experiences, or others who have applied please reply with your stats...It would be greatly appreciated!

I'm just trying to get a general idea of what my stats should be like or what I should expect if im accepted. I have a 3.5 GPA and I just recently took my TEAS saturday so I am waiting on my score (Crosses fingers) :):):):)

Thanks!

I didn't think to ask that, but I really assume there are three tiers total, since we had to give our second choice? If a position opened up for any campus and I was the next in line, if offered, I would take it! I can only assume that is how they think. I wanted Forsyth with Dahlonega as my second. The tiers were described to me as top, middle and bottom of the "top" tier, then top, middle and bottom of the "middle" tier, then top, middle, bottom of the bottom tier. They may not even have the same number in each tier. Too confusing!

I, too, think it is just one list for all campuses...and the reason is because I've heard of people getting pulled from the wait list that had requested one campus, but a spot had opened up on another.

If they were on the one list for their choice school, I don't think they would've been chosen.

I agree with everyone - it's DEFINITELY a compliment to be on the list!!!

One word of advice for those that were waitlisted, call and ask WHY you weren't selected! I was waitlisted last year (when I called I was told I was #20 on the list, who knows how long the list was) and when I called the lady gave me tons of advice. I took my sciences, made awesome grades and got my GPA up, and this year I was accepted. Even if it is something small like retaking a class it could make a huge difference. Keep the faith, it will happen! And, chances are there are quite a few who will turn it down - I might still if I get into a BSN program - so spaces WILL open up!

All they can tell you is where you are at on the wait list and there is a Top, Middle and Bottom. They can not tell you exactly where you are at. I was told that they accepted 160 total for all 3 campus' and there are at least that many on the wait list.

For those accepted:

Have you seen any change in your Banner Web?

Or have any new information since we turned in our intent to enroll?

She is mailing out more info next week! I am guessing what you can find already on the website (uniform info, immunizations, checkups, CPR, background check, etc.). I haven't noticed any changes on my Banner Web but I also have only looked at it once in 6 months.

Hi working on it, congrats on ur acceptance. Do you remember what group you were in the last time. as in top, middle ...About 160 as the previous poster said have to be ridiculous.

I don't think it is that long if all they needed was my name to look over the list. I am at the top of the top group. Hope i get in..:(

I believe there are 160 total spots, so it makes sense for the list to be 160 people long. And, I am sure it is a list in their computer system, easily searchable, rather than a paper list. I did not ask what group I was in and since it was last year they might not have had groups. I also didn't find out my position until it was almost summer so the list may have been shorter by then? It sounds like qute a few people get off the wait list. Good luck with getting in!

I asked if there were 50, just to give me an idea, and she said, "No where near that". So I would think 30 on the wait list is high.

It is a paper list and on computer and from what I can tell it is alphabetical. So that would not be hard to find someone out of only 160. I guess when she told you (tumbleweeds10) "No where near 50" - 160 is not near 50. lol

My last name starts with a "B" and they told me I was in the top portion so alphabetical would make sense, but it's not really fair.
