Hi, I'm new to this site, and I just wanted to see who has all applied to North Georgia College and State University. Anyone with experiences, or others who have applied please reply with your stats...It would be greatly appreciated!
I'm just trying to get a general idea of what my stats should be like or what I should expect if im accepted. I have a 3.5 GPA and I just recently took my TEAS saturday so I am waiting on my score (Crosses fingers) :):):):)
Thanks!
Haha! Well, why I was asking was because I have a business partner in printing and graphic design who also happens to be a Chief with the Cherokee Co. Sheriff's Dept. He said there is an investigation into nursing schools not accepting older women. I'm 42. I have a GPA of 3.91, started classes Fall of 2010 and have 45 hours, all A's except an 88.7 in Algebra. My TEAS was a 79.2. When I was told about the investigation, it made sense...I just don't know if it is the case here!!!
And yes, A's in API, APII, Micro, Eng 1101, Psyc 1101 and 2103, Soci 1101, HIST 2112, POLS 1101, SPCH 1101, ART 1101, and a B in MAT 1111. For North GA, I would need to take the POLS 2400 and HIST 1112, and STAT. I was going to go for a BSN, so I would need spanish, eng 1102, and calculus...and a couple of other classes that are not coming to me! I hope I get off the waitlist! I was told that I am in the middle of the top. I have no idea how many are on the waitlist, but it is way less than 50, because I asked, haha! I would say worst case, there may be 10 on each tier? I hope everyone does end up making it. It is miserable not knowing, again! :)
No it'sNot the case with N GA. I'm an older student as is another friend thatJust for accepted. I also believe both of the satellite campuses arePrimarily made up of older students, as it seems more younger wants want to be on the main campus. They probably just had a lot of high gpa's and teas Scores This year and may have also had to do with the first choice campus. I have a feeling you'll get pulledFrom the wait list.
futurenurse2014, where is the new facility going to be exactly? I knew North GA was going to combine with Gainesville State, but I didn't know it had anything to do with the nursing department. Do you know the address of the new building, by chance? Is it at Gainesville State? Thanks for the info!
Hi tumbleweeds10,
The new Cumming/Forsyth satellite campus is being built off of Exit 16(Pilgrim Mill Rd) off of GA400, but not sure of the address. I had no idea that the Nursing program would move from Lanier Tech, but I guess it makes sense. Sending good vibes your way to get off the wait list, I bet you get good news soon. Take care :)

they told me I was in the middle top portion also... I asked her what were my chances and she didn't reply guess she wasn't able to share that info. but I am also surprised about you being on the waiting list. I'm sure you will get off!
I was 49 when I got off the waitlist last year (at the end of May) and I honestly don't think that my age had anything to do with it. I was in the top of the top part of the waitlist. My friend was in the middle of the top part and she got her acceptance letter at the end of July.
I'm at the Gainesville campus and we have mostly older students, some are in their mid-20's (maybe a few younger) but most are older 20's to 40's. I think that Lanier has older students, with some younger but mostly older. Most of the just out of high school students seem to be at the Dahlonega campus.
Good luck to everyone! I hope that those of you on the waitlist get off.
It has taken me a minute to remember to even check back here! I got accepted to the Gainesville Campus!! I can't wait to get more info from NGCSU. My stats are 3.6 GPA, completed Micro, A&P I and II (with A's) and pretty much every other class possible! I got a 79.? on the TEAS back in 2010 and didn't retake it this year. To be honest, NG was not my first choice until recently so I wasn't too concerned about TEAS scores. But now I am definitely going this fall! I can't wait!!

Sk8inghunny- I graduated high school when I was 17 and each semester I have taken at least 15 hours. Congrats on your acceptance as well! :)
Tumbleweeds10- I am surprised you got waitlisted considering your GPA is so high.
