Anyone Applying to Delta College for Spring 2011

With only 4 weeks until we can start applying, I thought that it would be nice to start a new thread so that we can all keep in touch, pass along information, and post our stats.

Thanks to everyone for answering my question regarding the TEAS. You're all probably right, but I think I am going to email them anyways just to see what they say. RNBound83, that is a great idea regarding the eservice. I was a CSUS student and they also have eservcie. Also I think it says on the document checklist that if you took your prerequiste at Delta that you didn't need to submit that transcript; however, it was also contradicting. If any of you have verified this please let the rest of us know too. Thanks!

They got back to me and said that we DON'T have to submit a Delta transcript.

slrberry-yup, yup, yup, that was me, lol. It is a small world! Were you able to get your application into the other schools? Will delta be your first choice school?

Did anyone check off the need to work section of the app? I am wondering if I need to provide a paystub from all semesters I was enrolled in prereqs or just one. It seems like just one because it asks which semester I am providing it for, just want to be sure. Are you guys e-mailing them at [email protected]?

Hey kristi80, I have that marked off and have worked during all my pre-reqs and was getting stressed about who all I needed to contact but from the paperwork it looks like you just need to advise on one semester and get that information. My company just changed hands so I'm just getting a letter since I don't have access to my online paystubs anymore.

Hey everyone just wanted to share this with u...yesterday I sent an email to the nursing department bc I was confused about whether our emails were a good sign...they basically said "pending submission of your documentation we will then rank u based on ur evaluation"....that basically crushed my hope :(...so my question is this...has anyone heard from anyone else that got a different email from the rest of us???

Kristi80 - yes that is the email I am contacting them with. So far they have been very fast in responding. I asked my employer to send verifications for each semester it took me to complete a science pre-req. I did my English pre-req 20 years ago so I am hoping they don't require that documentation. I don't know if my employer at that time would keep records that long.

One of my schools doesn't have the catalog year posted on the course descriptions so I'm attaching a copy of the catalog cover that I got from college source.com. Is anyone else doing the same thing? Unfortunately my school doesn't provide hard copies of the catalog & they don't have a picture of the cover for the electronic versions so I decided to just print one out from college source.

My email sounds pretty much like everyone else on this site. I have a friend of a friend that says they were accepted. I find this hard to believe tho if they are stating in our emails that the final ranking will be emailed out by Friday December 3. I figure with 477+ applicants that if you recieved the request for documentation that you have a good chance to get in or at least be on the waitlist and it sounded like last semesters waitlist went down pretty far. Don't get discouranged yet!

Congratulations to all of you that have received your email to submit your documentation. I am a second semester nursing student at Delta. I remember getting my email and I was so excited!! I did hand deliver my information. There will basically be a basket in admissions to put it in. I was an alternate, but got my call during Thanksgiving week a year ago already!! It is a great program, I am very happy there. Good luck to you all....and be patient!! I know, easier said than done!!

I haven't heard of anyone else who didn't get the email. Submitting documentation only means that you are eligible for selection. They will look over your documents to make sure that you provided all the information you filled out on your app & then they will tally everyones points & rank them from highest-lowest points. I'm not sure how many students they are accepting for spring, but if it were 80 then 72 of the students with the highest scores will be in & 8 will be randomly selected (they choose 90% based on rank & 10% through lottery). I would view the email as a good thing because that means you have a chance of getting in. Hope that helps!

Thanks Renee! Wow, how do you like it so far? How are the instructors, clinicals, work load? Do you have any advice while we are waiting?
