  1. Yes, they said that was fine. You just have to turn in proof of coverage :).
  2. I got the school's health insurance.
  3. Hahaha yeah I bet everyone was glued to their computer getting ready to add classes. Fortunately I got into section 3 . I also wasn't able to add N18, but Teri said staff will add it for us :)
  4. Thanks waitingj. I actually just got done with the drug and alcohol test. My registration time is 9AM also. Want to become nurse, I'm hoping to get into section 3 for clinical, but my backup choices are section 4, 6, or 7. How about you?
  5. Want to become nurse, do you remember what time they said you can register on Dec 16th? I'm just trying to see if everyone got assigned the same date and time to register.
  6. The 2 step is when they do a skin test (poke your skin with a needle) then you come back in 2-3 days to examine your arm & determine if it's a positive or negative test, then they make you come back in 2-3 weeks to do the same process all over again. Nursing dept sent us an email saying we only need to provide proof of our first step PPD results by Jan 7th & turn in our second one as soon as we get it. When you make an appt just ask for a two step and they'll take care of everything. Yeah no problem. I'm also freaking out about meeting the deadlines lol there's soo much to do! & we're nursing classmates now so gotta help each other out haha :).
  7. No problem, glad to help :). I'm a current student at Sac State so I had my 2 step PPD done at the student health center for free. They also did my varicella zoster titer and flu vaccine for free. Are you going to get the domestic student health plan at sac state? I'm planning to get that, but the effective start date is 2/1/11, and we start school a week before that so I emailed the nursing department to ask if that was ok...just waiting on their reply.
  8. The uniform & equipment link should be on new student orientation website. Let me know if you can't find it & I'll send you the link :).
  9. Congrats want to become nurse! The student handbook just says that you need to turn in all documents by the deadline or you'll risk being dropped, and it lists immunizations you need to have which can also be found on your checklist. I wouldn't worry too much about the handbook right now. Just take care of your pre-entry checklist. You'll have access to the handbook once they add you to the nursing source page on SacCT. Did you receive the email about registration info? When do you register?
  10. Hey guys, Did any of you schedule an appointment for the drug and alcohol screening? What number did you use to schedule it?
  11. I also got accepted, but I will be declining my spot. Congrats everyone!
  12. If you're 21 or older then you're not covered anymore. I called to make sure and that's what they said =/. I'm going to get medical insurance through the school. If you search health center on the website they should have some info about health insurance we can get through sac state. It's soooo expensive , but we gotta do what we gotta do!
  13. Thanks SBNRN2B! I hope you all receive great news tomorrow
  14. HAHAHA the smiley faces are awesome! I'm also excited to meet all of you. I'm excited & still in shock, but the nervousness is kicking in more and more each day! I think I've gotten even more paranoid than before lol, I'm scared that one little mistake will get me kicked out of the program & we haven't even started yet! I estimated how much I need to spend on books and uniforms and OMMMMGGG nursing school is going to burn holes through my pockets! I didn't even include expenses for the pre-entry check list which will likely consist of background check, physical, immunizations, health insurance, drug and alcohol screening, etc. Do all of you have health insurance? I used to have medi-cal, but I don't think I'm covered anymore since I'm older than 21. Anyone have any advice? Waiting j, I'm pretty sure that the only orientation day for new nursing students is January 19th. Teri said she will email us about the nursing classes and registration in early December so that should probably answer most of our questions. I know that you get to choose between UCDavis or Sutter General for your clinicals. I'm still debating on which one to choose. Any insights? Did you guys purchase your uniform and equipment already?
  15. CONGRATS lanakopp!!!!!! Thank you slrberry & RNBound!!!!!! Slrberry, Sac State is my first choice because it's closer to home and I am going to school there right now. I'm soooo excited!!!!!! I will definitely be sticking around because this website has helped me a lot during the waiting process, I hope it's the same for nursing school.
