Anyone Applying to Delta College for Spring 2011

With only 4 weeks until we can start applying, I thought that it would be nice to start a new thread so that we can all keep in touch, pass along information, and post our stats.

I agree with giulistudentnurse! The instructors have been phenominal this semester. St Joes seemed to have had a lot more patients to get experiences with than did other hospitals. Mrs. Neville is a phenominal instructor! Highly recommend her! don't worry so much about getting ob first so you can do IV's because you can't do them in ped's anyway. I recommend getting Prentice Hall Child health nursing reviews and rationales by Mary Ann Hogan cause the all-in-one book is aweful for finding ob rationales! Good luck in your second semester:)

THANK YOU SBNRN2B for the tid bit about the rationale/diagnosis book for OB...I have been struggling a bit with this! I guess I should have asked you! Duh! I definitely agree on the recommendation for St. Joes and Ms. Neville and will throw in Ms. Kay for peds as well! Enjoy your rotations and just so you know if you felt really swamped with semester 1 there is a tiny bit of relief in semester 2! Good Luck!

Thank you all for taking time out of your busy schedules to answer. I will definitely order that book, I struggle with my nursing plan as it is so that is very helpful advice. It is also great to know that it will be a tiny bit calmer next semester, I'm feeling a little fried right now but loving the program. I can't believe we are registering already, time seems to be stuck on fast forward!
