anyone applying to CU for 2010?

Published

Is anyone going to put in their application this fall for Spring or Summer 2010?. I'm excited about finally getting to put in my application, I'll be attending the August 1st info session and be applying for the summer session. I will still be taking pre-reqs in the spring and I was so relieved when I found out I don't have to have everything finished to apply. My GPA is currently 4.0 and I should (I hope!) be able to keep that up until next spring. I'll be done all my sciences at the end of this summer semester and only have a couple math, a history and a pile of social sciences to do (music appreciation anyone!). The admission essay is making me nervous, but I have lots of time to work on it - I hope my GPA helps me out and they don't rely on essay alone.

I'd love to be in contact with anyone looking to get into CU.

BTW - I was going to go to DSN, but changed my mind since I decided to retake some old classes, and since we're paying for our own kids to go to college at the same time, needed to keep the cost down.

Whew... OK... was worried it was just me and that something was wrong.

On the 28th (this Friday) we *should* be getting an email telling us our application is complete!! I think if we actually get the email it will be a pretty good indication that they are running on schedule. So cross your fingers! I am beyond ready to figure out whether or not I got in, as I am sure all of you are. It seems like an eternity since we applied. I noticed that they changed the admission process and are now doing two application periods. Will this affect us at all? Are the new applicants applying for Jan 2011, just like we did? :uhoh3: I am so glad that March will be filled with midterms, papers, lab practicals etc...hopefully it will make the time go by a tad faster!! Is anyone else out there having dreams/nightmares of getting in or not getting in? I certainly am!

Is there another email coming out?! I thought the next one is the final yay or nay, and should be out Mid March to Mid April. About the schedule, I do see the dates overlap, but I really don't think they would do that to us. Man, I hope not!

I am 'busy' with classes too. Nothing exciting at all and its just murder for me to trudge through the assignments. I miss the pressure, I really do. I am taking 6 classes and I am seriously underwhelmed, ugh.

I'm having dreams too. I just wish I could go a couple days without holding my breath every time I open my email. I have a friend on here who sent in her app and within a month got her reply. She is so lucky (she got in too!)

I think those that get accepted should do like the Metro students and start a Facebook page. And meet for coffee before school starts. It would be a great way to meet fellow students without the added excitement of first day.

i got the feb. 28th date from this email that i received way back in december...

1. by january 15, 2010, you should receive an email informing you of the additional information we need to complete your application. you will also receive an email if we have everything we need to complete the processing of your application. the postmark deadline for all transcripts is january 31, 2010. official transcripts must be sent from the issuing institution to the college of nursing using the address at the end of this message. sealed transcripts mailed by anyone other than the issuing institution are not considered official.

2. by february 28, 2010, you should receive a second email indicating that we have completed processing your application.

3. in mid to late march, admission decision letters will be mailed out.

sand_dollar: did your admission's person tell you they may send out acceptance/rejection letters in mid april? i really hope that isn't the case. i think the facebook page idea is a great one! i think we should definitely do that should we get accepted! :)

I got an email Jan 4 saying they have all they need at this time including my Fall 09 grades. "When I complete the processing of your application after Jan 15, 2010, you will receive another email".

On Jan 21, I got a general one addressed from the UCD CofN saying "We are in the process of completing the initial review of all applications. We expect to complete the first review by Feb 2, 2010. If you have not already received an email regarding the status of your application, you should receive one by Feb 2nd. You should also receive a final email by mid March indicating we have completed the final processing of your file. Decision letters will be mailed out around the end of March."

On Feb 5 I sent an email (I just couldn't wait!) saying I didn't get the updated email from the 2nd and was just checking to see if I passed the initial review.

It took me a few days and this email to realize I am a wiener and I had already gotten that letter. On the 8th I got an email saying it was the one sent on the 4th. And...here's the important line "The next email you will receive will be when I do the final processing of your application. That could be any time between now and mid April."

All of the emails, except for the general one, came from SB, the Admissions Manager.

If your email in December said they got everything, then I think you are good. It would be nice if they gave us the same dates, but I am sure they are swamped right about now and have bigger concerns than that! lol

All we can do now is wait.... :anbd: :sstrs: :lol2:

Sanddollar, oh wow, so they pushed back the mailing time for the admission letters even further into April now? I am very curious how many applications they received this round, the increase must have been huge.

I was thinking the same thing One1 - they must be overloaded.

I check this board several times daily to see if any of you have heard anything! I would love to join a FB page and meet up before/during class schedules. I know that having support from each other will help us all. I am hoping you all hear something in March and that the April date is just for extras or something, time will tell.

I was under the impression that those that don't get in for June or Jan right away would be resubmitted with new applicants for Jan 2011. I know that stinks and hopefully I am wrong but I thought that was how it will work. I know I should be excited to be accepted to start in June (priority review) and I AM but it is lonely until some of you join me! Keep us posted!

Has anyone received that final notification that we were told we would receive by Feb. 28th yet? The last email I received was from mid-January.
