I was wondering if there were any young african american travel nurses and which assignement did u enjoy the most? On my first assignment and I'm not enjoying myself. I want to know the best places to go.
Blessedone1 I am working with AYA now to possibly get me to KU Med in Kansas.
Will anyone be able to provide me with any insight into interviewing? I am possibly going to be called for one this week..& this will be my first assignment if I agree.
I'm not sure if 30 is considered young but I'd like to think so. I'm currently finishing up my 1st assignment in Denver CO. Coming out here from NC was truly an eye opening experience. I work nights and at my old hospital just about every night shift nurse was a minority, mostly AA and a few Filipino nurses. I come here and at times I'm the only AA staff member on the unit. Denver is a beautiful city with lots to do. You can try using meetup dot com to find groups of people with similar interests to hang out with. I'm leaving mid February for an assignment in Austin, TX that's set to start on the 3rd. I was wondering if anyone else was heading out that way. If so, perhaps we can meet up and hang out.[/quote']Hey there!! I'm also headed to austin to start a assignment on March 3rd. And I'm from NC!!!! We should def link up!
I am traveling with AYA healthcare and I did endorse my license to TX...it took a while bc I am from Illinois so they took forever to verify my Illinois license..also, the TX temp license took me exactly a month to receive when they say you'll receive in about 15 days..temp license lasts four months. Background check and everything is complete so I'm waiting on permanent licensure there.
