  1. I am a onc/med surg RN, my roommate is not. We have both been placed on onc units throughout our travels. Actually our entire experience has been oncology related. Anyways she always makes it very clear to the units that she does not know oncology and is not chemo certified but she has done very well on every unit she has been on. Basically as long as you know your limits and what you feel comfortable doing and making the staff aware as well as the managers I think you will be good! hope your experience goes well!!!
  2. hey hey hey all!!! i will be in austin march 3rd as well!!! @motivatedone i got your message but can't message you back.. guess i don't participate enough on here or something but i can see yours.. anyways.. everyone else look forward to march!!
  3. I'm currently in Houston on my first travel assignment. I heard from my recruiter that texans is generally a low paying state and it just depends on the timing and hospital. When I first looked into moving to Houston the take home was almost what I was making as a new grad when I first started nursing!! When my recruiter came back with a different hospital and better pay I jumped on the chance (I really wanted to come to houston). I came with a friend and we are sharing a 2 bedroom in the gallaria. Really nice but ons of traffic! It's nice you don't have to deal with traffic and can hop on the train! Well just wanted to share my experience so far

I hear its a great hospital and that Houston is a great place to be. I always was interested in moving there so I'm loving the opportunity. I will be there from April 29- July 28th. If you have any suggestions on things to do or must see please let me know!

Hello all!!! I just got my first assignment as a traveler in Houston! I'm super excited I am traveling with a friend and so now I'm just not sure what to expect at this point. We will be working at MD Anderson and was hoping that people had some experience there or just as a traveler in Houston in general. It would be great to have some idea as to what to expect so any and all input is helpful! Thanks in advance!!! -K
