I'm not sure if 30 is considered young but I'd like to think so. I'm currently finishing up my 1st assignment in Denver, CO. Coming out here from NC was truly an eye opening experience. I work nights and at my old hospital just about every night shift nurse was a minority, mostly AA and a few Filipino nurses. I come here and at times I'm the only AA staff member on the unit. Denver is a beautiful city with lots to do. You can try using meetup dot com to find groups of people with similar interests to hang out with. I'm leaving mid February for an assignment in Austin, TX that's set to start on the 3rd. I was wondering if anyone else was heading out that way. If so, perhaps we can meet up and hang out.

Bliss911, I started traveling after a year of experience. Many told me to wait and at times I wish I had not necessarily because I still have some learning to do but because most hospitals want travel nurses with at least 2 years of experience. So it's been fairly difficult for me to find an assignment in an area I'd like to visit. So I would suggest waiting until you got at least 2 years of experience. Also, highwayhypodermics is a great resource for information about traveling and the different agencies out there! It was my go to website when trying to decide which agency to apply to. Best of luck in all of your future endeavors!

Thank you! & I have no choice but to have 2yrs experience coming out ..I'm under a 24mo contract with my current hospital I'm on an oncology /med surg floor..I should be good and ready to travel once it's up I just need information on good agencies !! :)

I will be 25 on the 15th of this month and have my first assignment on Jan20. I am very excited but nervous. I am starting in my home state of Fl near Tampa but I am looking to travel to Texas. My agency is Parallon, anyone else use this agency or in florida?

Parallon is one of the top staffing agencies here in Denver, and I know they're in Texas as well. I work with them through a subcontract with my travel agency. Will you be working at multiple hospitals in the area or just one?

Try highwayhypodermics dot com. They rank each travel agency based on specific criteria. You can also read reviews of certain agencies from other travel nurses.

Just the one for 13 weeks and then on to the next assignment

Hi,

I'm looking to start in the April or May of this year too. We'll see what happens.

Hello ladies!

I've been debating on travel nursing vs going back to school for masters. I'm 23 and will have 2 years tele/med-surg experience in July. I think its time for me to venture off. I still live with my parents, I'm single and I work in the same hospital that I was born in. Think its time for me to leave the nest. But anyways, I'm looking to possibly start this summer or spring. I've only been in contact with one recruiter for about a year and he is constantly emailing and calling me to see if I'm still interested. I think I've finally made up my mind to start. Are there any first timers looking to start this summer? Does anyone have any advice.

Is anyone using Aya? I'm from the east coast, think I want to try out Texas or GA and eventually make it to Cali. I told my recruiter to get back with me in February. Think I may travel for a year, then apply to grad schools.

I have never heard of them but please let me know how you like them if you use them

Hi, I recently started traveling and I'm getting ready to extend my first assignment in LA. I'm with Aya and with it being my very first agency I don't have any complaints.

Hi, is there anyone currently in LA?
