Hi any nurse here in Queensland? just want to ask for a little help maybe you can recommend any book or review materials i can use for the Competency Assessment Test (QLD Nursing Council) I just need it badly. Thanks!

i cant reveal the number of the agency cozI cant PM yet...sorry...just search the name of the Agency in the net.

Hi kiangky, i just submitted the requirements. I'm in the waiting phase. I hope they will process the assessment within 3 months. When are you taking the Test A?

hello gemini!! did u receive the assessment? if ever when do u want to take the Challenge test A? While waiting for the assessment of QNC, i have already bought the recommended books so that I will be half ready or complete;y prepared to take the test because we only have until June 30, 2009 to complete Challenge test A & B as indicated in the QNC assessment letter of a friend of mine. I think she was still hesitant to take the exam coz she's still working and not that well prepared. i hope we all receive positive assessments and pass all the tests before the deadline.

hello bubbynrs,

my letter said something like..to be eligible for registration i must comply by demonstrating competence as a nurse. that means i need to proceed with the CAS already. the exams :) just wait for the mail so that it will be clear to you on what documents you may probably lack since they said you have an incomplete assessment.. and oh yes, maybe its the IELTS that they are referring to... :)

Congratulations for being eligible to take the test! :) Thanks to this thread I have completed all the requirements including those course descriptors... I hope u guys post reinforcemnts and updates so that neophytes will be informed. I'm really thankful..I hope I will be eligible too..

hello UR49. u said the challenge test A and Part B is the only pathway we can now take if ever our assessment is positive.. and not the education modules anymore?, if ever i choose the modules. and 1 more thing, ]If successful completion is not achieved (ie: 80% of questions correct) in all subject areas the applicant will be directed to the educational module that relates to each of the areas of deficit.. so...??

Hello! I really don't know...the info I received were very short and vague. In my opinion if the candidate was assessed before June 30 2010, they are still part of the old process of referral to educ modules. However, education modules are very tedious meaning it will take a lot of time to finish it so maybe the council does not want that because they have a target date.

Guys, i have just received an acknowledgment letter from QNC today. I'm not expecting it to be that fast, I hope they will continue to hasten all processing of applications. I hope the assessment will come November or December.

I received the acknowledgement letter that QNC has my application was two weeks. The assessment part is the one that takes some time. Hope your application goes smoothly.

Thank u Carmina!! It just took a week for them to send the acknowledgment letter. May I know the status of ur application?

hey valentine have you taken CAS A?

Hello everyone, just want to ask if anybody here is planning to take the education module offered by CAS instead of the Challenge Test to gain registration?

Thanks!

I would suggest that you give the challenge test A a try before going to the modules. The reference books will be the same anyway. In taking the exam, you have a chance to pass one or all of the categories so your expenses wouldn't cost so much compared to taking the modules straight away. Just my two cents.

Hi everyone,

I am planning to take the CAS. Is it too late to submit an application to the QNC? I heard they are not taking in after January 2010.

I would greatly appreciate your tips on this,

Thanks
