Hi any nurse here in Queensland? just want to ask for a little help maybe you can recommend any book or review materials i can use for the Competency Assessment Test (QLD Nursing Council) I just need it badly. Thanks!

Hi everyone,

I am planning to take the CAS. Is it too late to submit an application to the QNC? I heard they are not taking in after January 2010.

I would greatly appreciate your tips on this,

Thanks

hi, forumjunkie, you and me both.

Anyway, I guess I will just have to take the risk and send my application ASAP. Good luck to both of us.:imbar;)

Thanks for your reply CarminaRN, you have a point there. I was just wondering what will happen if you passed the test but you're not ready to take Part B? I have read something like you can take the clinical practice module.. uhmm not sure what this means. Is it the education module?

you can choose to take the clinical module instead of the test B. its 160 hours of clinical placement in a hospital/aged care facility. where you will be guided and assessed by a preceptor on your nursing skills. you will be designated as student RN but expected to show competence in practice as beginning practitioner.

I just phoned an agency and they are offering a comprehensive review for part A that will last for 3 months but it cost 15K. I'm still considering just buying the recommended books for CAS than to review in a review center. However, this agency is promising an employer after passing the exams, they said they have a contact or connection in Queensland. I dunno if its true or not.

hi would youo kindly pm me the name of the agency? thanks :)
