Hi all..
Just asking...are there any other PN/LPN students here? Either currently attending or soon to attend...or even those who "want" to attend??....
Thanks!!!!!!!!!! (((((((((((((( HUGS )))))))))))
i just had my final exam on the 5/9/06. now i'm looking forward to pinning on the 19th and taking the boards. i can't believe it is over. i'm happy but sad all at the same time. i am going to miss each and every person in my class. you really do become close to these people. let me stop before i start tearing up.
Hello, My name is Heather and I'm from southern NJ. I'll be starting a 12 month LPN program at ACIT in August. I'm beyond excited but also enjoying my last few months of semi-freedom! haha I don't see the point since all I can think about is nursing school. And, yes, I'll be persuing my RN afterwards.
Hi Nony,..Hi TashaLPN2006..........
Tasha...Hit those books girlie (smile)...As I recall the Respiratory system is fairly easy, but I am sure some of the other systems will be harder for me to grasp....Any-hoo study harder, make some flash cards and have a friend test you, ya know a kinda pop quizz thing...You will do fine the next time around..hang in there!! ((hugs))
Nony...I think its great that you are already wanting to study ahead!! Now as to a good med/term book....The one I have is called "Medical Terminology for professionals" I got it used ( paid something like $6.00) I would suggest that you get your hands on ANY Med/term book..be it borrow, purchase ( new, used etc) or even why not go on and purchase a CNA text book. Also try some of the common on line book stores....I have had a couple of them and to me the basic info is about all the same....So go for it,..and again Way-2-go on being so on top of things!!
Hello to all the other PN/LPN's or pre-students...out there!!
Hi Yall,Im a LPN student and I going to be starting a 12 month program in August. I am glad to be here and the support system is great. Are there any suggestions on a medical terminology textbook I can study before the class starts???
"Medical Termonology - A Short Course" is a great book. It's a self teaching book. I used it before I took Med Term in college and it helped me a great deal. You can get it at Barnes and Noble, here's the link.

I am an LPN student in my fourth week of classes in Dayton, OH. I started last month and will graduate April 2007. Any suggestions on how to study, work, and keep a happy marriage as a newlywed?? We're trying to be a team, my husband and I. He helps with dinner, cleaning, and yardwork so that I can study. I still do the laundry :)

Math scared me for years I put of going back to school because of Math, but then I decided enough is enough. I bought a book called
"All the math you will ever need to know" by Steve Slavin
I can't recomend it enough it was so easy to follow it started with multiplication and went up to Alegebra and Geometry and touched on other advanced levels. I need Intermediate algebra for the Rn program and I didn't want to start off taking basic math classes, that book got me as far as Algerbra which was what I needed to take for the PN program. It was excellent I went on from there getting an A both the next level college algebra classes and I am no longer afraid of math but love it!
