Any 2nd or 3rd time test takers?

Published

I am so happy for everyone that passed but i keep saying to myself "why couldn't that be me?" It just kills me to think i have failed Nclex RN twice and others take it one time and pass. I have been studying using Suzanne's plan this time and i'm scheduled to retest next month. Please throw some good vibes my way cos i need all the help i can get.

Any other 2nd and 3rd time test takers out there?

i started reading the Hurst Review for nclex it is really easy to understand and studying from saunders 4th edition, what books are you using? let me know and if you have any tips let me know thanks and good luck hopefully this time around we will both pass and everyone else on this thread

i am doing the NCSBN (nursing board)review, so far i like it and also i did 3rd edition of saunders and right now i'm waiting for suzzene's secnd step.

is that also called the learning extention? NCSBN ? you pay online and they give 1,2, 3 weeks of information and questions ? i am also awaiting suzanne's second tip, i know lots of people that did the learning extentions and did very well i did 265 in the last test and fail i thought in my mind i had passed but i know now it was too easy, the harder the question and the more i feel i don't know the answer the better i am doing, go fiqure, i got the results and had all passing level none below, enough of the pass and now it's time for us to pass and not make the same mistakes. when is your test date? if u have one yet

The first time I took it I had 75 questions. Since then I've had all 265 questions each time. It drives me crazy seeing some of the other people who have passed that I could run circles around during clinicals. I know I would be a great nurse but I can't get through this test either. Pass on any tips and best of luck...

I am the in the same boat I had 75 questions 2xs and then 265 after that. Did not have anything in between. I took a break before I start studying again. I will start to study again Monday and probably will not take my test again until April.

Good Luck Everyone I am in route to study for the 3rd time:)

Yes this is the program, I don't know will see, hopefully it will work:devil:

Hi there, I took this exam 6 times and now im studying to do it for the 7th time. I was so upset after I got my results last time, that I told my husband that is it, i'm done. But he told me to keep on going. I don't know, I don't think i can take another "Fail" again. I graduated nursing school in 1991 in ukraine and I passed the boards there from the first time. Hopefully this time will the last time.

have u tried kaplan? its good with strategies to help you pass:pumpiron:

:bugeyes:I know how you feel, as soon as I walk into that building, my insides drop and I just go blank. When I left the testing center,I could not even remeber question that I had. Well I will attempt another try on March 14, I hope I can pull myself together.

You really have to work on your nerves. its hard to concentrate like that when your taking that test. i failed the 1st time, but the second time i went in more confident and passed.

I think it was the nerves that got me too...I know that I could nail this test, I know that I can be a great nurse...but somehow I just get nervous...I'm taking it the second time sometime in March...maybe by then I'd get rid of this nervousness...

Thanks, I bought Kaplan strategy book, just finished it. It does give you an idia how to choose the right answer.

Thank you guys, for all of your thoughts

Good luck. The way I lost my nervousness was by telling myself that this (failure) cant happen again, studied harder, and getting above a 65% on the practice test I took, just made me feel so much more confident, bc I felt like I knew more. The strategies from kaplan also built up my confidence, bc I felt like no matter how hard the questions were, I can figure it out with their methods and although I thought there was a possibility that I failed again the second time, the strategies obviously worked

you're welcome, but you should also try doing some of their test, esp. the question trainers bc their questions are really similar to the style of the NCLEX.
